Looks I Love: 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards

To continue on with the 2019 award season, many stars stepped out to attend the 24th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards. Instead of strutting their stuff on the traditional red carpet like at last week’s Golden Globes, this season’s favorites walked a blue carpet. Here were a few of my faves

Nina Dobrev

Fresh from her 30th birthday celebration in South Africa and her “NinaChella” birthday bash in LA, Nina Dobrev walked the blue carpet in a red Valentino gown. She was one of the very few who decided to go with such a bold color and I’m not complaining. You can catch Nina starring in the CBS comedy Fam. | Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

KiKi Layne

KiKi Layne is a breakout actress of this movie season for her role in the nominated film, If Beale Street Could Talk. She made a big red carpet debut at last week’s Golden Globes and kept it up in a nude Atelier Versace gown. She looked absolutely confident and fierce, and I cannot wait to see more this season. | Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Mandy Moore

Before the This Is Us star presented the Best Song award to Lady Gaga, she walked the blue carpet in a Michael Kors gown. She was among many actresses who chose to wear white for the night. | Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Kristen Bell

As a fan of both Kristen and The Good Place, I’m so happy to see her and the whole cast attend award season this year. Kristen matched the blue carpet in a Cushnie gown and was among the few who actually wore color. Other than The Good Place, I’m pretty excited to see Veronica Mars this year.

Gemma Chan

She does it again, looking absolutely beautiful. Continuing her support of Asian designers, she wore a floral gown by Jason Wu. I loved the colors of the dress along with the fact there were pockets! Gemma joined her Crazy Rich Asians cast-mates on stage as they accepted the award for Best Comedy. She was even pictured with Harry Shum Jr. which gave me Charlie and Astrid feels. | Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

The Men

In two weeks, award season continues with the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards. See ya then!

Looks I Love: 2019 Golden Globes

Tonight, the Golden Globes kicks off the 2019 red carpet season. So many of 2018’s biggest stars stepped out to represent their work and for many it was their first time. Soft colors seemed to be popular throughout the night and were among my favorites!

Kiki Layne

The If Beale Street Could Talk star made her red carpet debut in a custom blush pink Dior Haute Couture gown. The tulle, off-the-shoulder dress featured a corset type top which I absolutely adored. | Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Regina King

Regina King accepted the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in If Beale Street Could Talk. And she did it in absolute style. She wore a strapless, rose pink gown by Alberta Ferreti and shined in sequins. | Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Taraji P. Henson

Is there a time where Taraji doesn’t slay the red carpet? She rocked the red carpet in a low-cut, emerald green Vera Wang gown. The cinched belt showed off her figure, the jewels sparkled, and the hair and make-up was as fierce as she was. | Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Emma Stone

Emma is forever a favorite. Nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Favourite, she stepped out in a soft pink Louis Vuitton gown. The dress featured some elaborate embroidery and as always, she looked like a classic Hollywood actress. | Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Constance Wu

This was such a big night for the Crazy Rich Asians star and Best Actress Nominee. As the first Asian actress to be nominated in the category after 50+ years, she stepped out looking gorgeous in a nude Vera Wang dress. She was one of the many stars who rocked tulle and I loved the little hint of color with the orange belt.| Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Gemma Chan

In 2018, Gemma Chan became one of my new favorite fashion icons. She stepped out in a petrol blue Maison Valentino Couture dress. She exuded grace and elegance just like her Crazy Rich Asians character, Astrid Leung. Her look was my favorite of the night.| Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Kristen Bell

The Good Place star looked like a classic Hollywood star in a low-cut, blush pink dress by Zuhair Murad.  Her and her husband, Dax Shepard, served some looks together. But my absolute favorite was just watching Kristen get ready through her IG. She’s such a relatable nerd.| Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Kaley Cuoco

The Big Bang Theory star strolled the red carpet with her husband, Karl Cook. The cobalt blue and white dress by Monique L’Huillier also featured pockets which is woman’s absolute dream when it comes to formal wear.| Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga looked like she was channeling Cinderella in a baby blue gown by Valentino. The train appeared to be at least 4-ft long, so she definitely had to have a lot of assistance down the red carpet. Joined by her A Star Is Born co-star Bradley Cooper, she presented the first award of the night.| Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Danai Gurira

This dress was absolute fire – literally. The custom Rodarte gown was inspired by Zimbabwe’s national flower, the Flame Lily. She joined her Black Panther cast mates as they celebrated their Best Motion Picture nomination.| Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Best Dressed Men

Justin Hartley is known for his role on This Is Us, but i’m over here admiring the former Green Arrow in a black and white Brunello Cucinelli suit.

Richard Madden won Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama series. And my heart melted for Rob Stark/Prince Charming in his Dior suit.

Michael B. Jordan rocked a custom Burberry suit and he never fails in a suit.r23s v

Timothee Chalamet was an absolute cutie in Louis Vuitton. He rocked that bedazzled harness!

Manny Jacinto had to be included in my list because his character on The Good Place is a homie and he cleans up very well in a Boss suit.

Who were your faves of the night?

Looks I Love: 24th Annual Screen Actor’s Guild Awards

The 2018 red carpet season continued tonight with the 24th Annual Screen Actor’s Guild Awards. Kristen Bell served as the very first host of the award show. Morgan Freeman took home the Lifetime Achievement Award. And of course the audience was full of beautiful people. Here were some of my favorite looks of the night:

Natalia Dyer – The Stranger Things actress walked the red carpet alongside co-stars Dacre Montgomery and Joe Keery in a two tone Christian Dior Haute Couture dress. The dress started with a sheer black top and continued on with a white printed skirt. The recently turned 21-year-old finished off the look with a bun and looked as elegant as ever. | Photo Source: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Halle Berry – The former Catwoman graced the red carpet in a custom Pamella Roland gown. The nude gown had sequined detail from head to toe, while the black tulle train amplified the look. She confidently showed off her assets and honestly does not look her age at all! | Photo Source: Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Mandy Moore – The This Is Us star shimmered in a  Ralph Lauren dress. Her and her fellow female cast mates all decided to walk the carpet in royal blue proving that this cast/family is truly deserving of the the Best Ensemble award. The neckline is somewhat conservative, but she kept it low cut in the back. I loved the soft curls she paired along with the look. | Photo Source: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Yara Shahidi – Yara Shahidi proves to be a force to reckon with in her generation. The Grown-ish star chose to wear a black Ralph Lauren jumpsuit. She definitely stood out in the crowd. But this wasn’t just an ordinary strapless jumpsuit. What made it elegant and perfect for the SAG awards was the flowy train. | Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Millie Bobby Brown – The young fashion icon of her generation decided to continue on with Calvin Klein by Appointment  just like she did at the 2018 Golden Globes. She kept it young with a blush colored high-low dress, but my favorite part of the look was the fact that she chose to wear white Converse. Walking the red carpet in heels isn’t always comfortable, so she said screw it. And it’s absolutely cute on her. | Photo Source: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Kristen Bell – The host of the night decided to walk the carpet in a pink J. Mendel gown. The strapless gown had floral detail from the top to bottom. The gown was tight fitting at the top but the skirt flared out and to me she looked like a Disney princess. The low bun and subtle makeup completed the look. Throughout the show, she let her hair down and opted for black gowns and she looked great! I’ve loved Kristen Bell ever since she was that investigative high school student who pretty much broke the rules all the time (Veronica Mars)So I think she was the perfect person to host the SAGs for the first time. | Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Best Dressed: 2016 Emmy Awards

It’s that time of the year again – one of the biggest nights in television, the Emmy Awards. As you may know, my favorite thing about award shows is the red carpet and seeing what my favorite actors and actresses in television look like all glammed up.

LET’S START WITH MY TOP 5 (in no particular order):

emiliaclarke68thannualprimetimeemmyawardswncnm18ax6cl

Emilia Clarke –  I’m pretty biased here because Emilia will ALWAYS be part of my “best dressed on the red carpet” lists. It’s the way she carries herself on the red carpet. The “Outstanding Supporting Actress” nominee went for a blush colored strapless dress by Atelier Versace. With her hair up in a bun, she accentuated her neckline and kept it minimum with jewelry. She’s so poised and elegant every time, even if she’s one of the biggest dorks in the world (I say that out of love).

kristenbell68thannualprimetimeemmyawardsmyr8yhbf1lxl

Kristen Bell – Yes, she’s back on our television screens! As I sit here contemplating  why Veronica Mars was never nominated for an Emmy, Kristen Bell in her Zuhair Murad dress is definitely a good distraction. The dress entailed a floral design perfect for the end of summer & beginning of fall! She rocked the low plunging neckline, but my absolute favorite part of the dress was the billowing skirt!

torikelly68thannualprimetimeemmyawardsmr0olkhq63nl

Tori Kelly – I know fans of the YouTube start will agree that Tori has come so far! You may know her for her music, but she stepped on the red carpet looking like a classic Hollywood actress.Along with her soft curls, she wore a black mermaid-style gown by Paule KaThere wasn’t much detail on the dress, but she accessorized well with a silver clutch and jewelry (Norman Silverman Diamonds).

lavernecox68thannualprimetimeemmyawardsrbryi49nu27l

Laverne Cox – She keeps making my best dressed lists! Her maroon dress she wore at this year’s SAG Awards is still my favorite look of hers, but this gold number by Naeem Kahn comes very close. The dress hugs her figure perfectly. She said she was excited of the possibility she may see Beyonce, but I definitely think she slayed the red carpet just like Beyonce would.

sophieturner68thannualprimetimeemmyawards8npeielcio2l

Sophie Turner – I still stand by my statement that she is a fashion icon of her generation. Out of this year’s award show red carpets, I noticed she likes to keep it neutral. Just like at the 2016 SAG Awards, she opted for a black dress but this time by Valentino. The spiked gold necklace accompanying this lacy dress gave it more edge ! Does anyone else think her look emulated Jennifer Lawrence? Maybe it’s the blonde hair, but either way, she rocked it!

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

Kerry Washington – The Scandal star may be pregnant, but she did not let that stop her from walking (read WORKING) the red carpet. She looked fierce in a black Brandon Maxwell dress cut at the sides, accenting her baby bump.

Olivia Culpo – Why was former Miss USA Olivia Culpo at the Emmys? I’ll never know, but she looked beautiful AND fierce in this Zac Posen dress.

Priyanka Chopra – I love red and this dress by Jason Wu was the best looking red dress on the red carpet.

Sarah Paulson – Honestly, I was having J. Lo flashbacks with this embelisshed, emerald green gown. But this Prada gown was far from it and Sarah pulled it off!

Millie Bobby Brown – I haven’t seen Stranger Things, but I do know that this 12-year old in Valentino is capturing the hearts of many. So I’m calling it right now: this girl is going to be rocking many red carpets in the future and will most likely be a style icon.

BEST DRESSED MEN:

Yeah, the men have it easy, but not all of them can rock a good suit. Here’s a few that looked very dapper tonight.

From L to R: Tom Cullen, Rami Malek, Trevor Jackson

and of course my Game of Thrones babes Kit Harington & Pedro Pascal.

And that concludes my best dressed of the 2016 Emmys (photos courtesy of Zimbio)! Who made your list?
