Looks I Love: 2019 SAG Awards

On Sunday, January 27th, Hollywood’s biggest actors stepped out to celebrate themselves as well as their peers at the 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards presented by SAG-AFTRA. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel won big in the realm of television, while the Black Panther cast made history taking home the award for Best Ensemble in a Motion Picture.

Normally, I have many favorites, however only a few caught my eyes:

Aja Naomi King

The How To Get Away With Murder Star walked the red carpet in a yellow Ralph & Russo gown. I loved the overall cut of the gown, especially the off the shoulder sleeves. She looked absolutely regal with the way she composed herself. I felt a lot of modern day Belle vibes. | Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Emma Stone

This year, Emma Stone changed it up at the SAG Awards with a two-piece ensemble by Louis Vuitton. She shined in a gold, one-sleeve top paired with some black, high-waisted pants. Stone was nominated for two awards that night, including a nomination for her performance in The Favourite. | Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Gemma Chan

Gemma Chan has proved to be a crazy gorgeous Asian during this award season. She walked the red carpet in a pink custom Oscar De La Renta piece. It featured a ruffled skirt that almost resembled feathers. A black belt held the piece together with a simple bow flowing through the train. She is the epitome of class and poise. I should write a Gemma Chan appreciation post already. | Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Henry Golding

Henry Golding lived up to his last name in a gold Tom Ford suit. He decided to forego the traditional black and white suit and chose to go with a gold blazer. As he walked the red carpet with his Crazy Rich Asians co-stars, he was all smiles and handsome as ever. He is proving to be one of the most fashionable men in Hollywood. | Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Harry Shum Jr.

Harry Shum Jr. was named Ambassador for the 25th SAG Awards and he did it in style. He walked the red carpet alongside his wife, Shelby Rabara, and presented a few awards during the pre-show. He was styled in an Armani tuxedo, with a custom Anto shirt. It’s always so fun watching Harry get ready through social media. Also, him and Shelby are #relationshipgoals | Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

I’ll see you again for the Grammys and the Oscars!

Looks I Love: 2019 Golden Globes

Tonight, the Golden Globes kicks off the 2019 red carpet season. So many of 2018’s biggest stars stepped out to represent their work and for many it was their first time. Soft colors seemed to be popular throughout the night and were among my favorites!

Kiki Layne

The If Beale Street Could Talk star made her red carpet debut in a custom blush pink Dior Haute Couture gown. The tulle, off-the-shoulder dress featured a corset type top which I absolutely adored. | Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Regina King

Regina King accepted the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in If Beale Street Could Talk. And she did it in absolute style. She wore a strapless, rose pink gown by Alberta Ferreti and shined in sequins. | Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Taraji P. Henson

Is there a time where Taraji doesn’t slay the red carpet? She rocked the red carpet in a low-cut, emerald green Vera Wang gown. The cinched belt showed off her figure, the jewels sparkled, and the hair and make-up was as fierce as she was. | Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Emma Stone

Emma is forever a favorite. Nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Favourite, she stepped out in a soft pink Louis Vuitton gown. The dress featured some elaborate embroidery and as always, she looked like a classic Hollywood actress. | Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Constance Wu

This was such a big night for the Crazy Rich Asians star and Best Actress Nominee. As the first Asian actress to be nominated in the category after 50+ years, she stepped out looking gorgeous in a nude Vera Wang dress. She was one of the many stars who rocked tulle and I loved the little hint of color with the orange belt.| Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Gemma Chan

In 2018, Gemma Chan became one of my new favorite fashion icons. She stepped out in a petrol blue Maison Valentino Couture dress. She exuded grace and elegance just like her Crazy Rich Asians character, Astrid Leung. Her look was my favorite of the night.| Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Kristen Bell

The Good Place star looked like a classic Hollywood star in a low-cut, blush pink dress by Zuhair Murad.  Her and her husband, Dax Shepard, served some looks together. But my absolute favorite was just watching Kristen get ready through her IG. She’s such a relatable nerd.| Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Kaley Cuoco

The Big Bang Theory star strolled the red carpet with her husband, Karl Cook. The cobalt blue and white dress by Monique L’Huillier also featured pockets which is woman’s absolute dream when it comes to formal wear.| Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga looked like she was channeling Cinderella in a baby blue gown by Valentino. The train appeared to be at least 4-ft long, so she definitely had to have a lot of assistance down the red carpet. Joined by her A Star Is Born co-star Bradley Cooper, she presented the first award of the night.| Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Danai Gurira

This dress was absolute fire – literally. The custom Rodarte gown was inspired by Zimbabwe’s national flower, the Flame Lily. She joined her Black Panther cast mates as they celebrated their Best Motion Picture nomination.| Photo Source: Getty Images via Zimbio |

Best Dressed Men

Justin Hartley is known for his role on This Is Us, but i’m over here admiring the former Green Arrow in a black and white Brunello Cucinelli suit.

Richard Madden won Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama series. And my heart melted for Rob Stark/Prince Charming in his Dior suit.

Michael B. Jordan rocked a custom Burberry suit and he never fails in a suit.r23s v

Timothee Chalamet was an absolute cutie in Louis Vuitton. He rocked that bedazzled harness!

Manny Jacinto had to be included in my list because his character on The Good Place is a homie and he cleans up very well in a Boss suit.

Who were your faves of the night?

Looks I Love: 90th Academy Awards

Tonight marked the 90th year of the Academy Awards also known as the 2018 Oscars. The ceremony took place at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles’ iconic Hollywood and Highland Center, across the street and a few doors down from the 1st ceremony’s location back in 1929, The Roosevelt Theater.

90 years of film was celebrated tonight and I loved all of the montages of movies through the years. However, if I were to be honest, out of this year’s nominated movies, I only watched one (Coco). And if I were to continue to be honest, I watch mainly for the red carpet fashion. But you already knew that! So without further ado…

Taraji P. Henson was one of the first actresses I saw on the red carpet tonight and I instantly loved her look. The Empire star was styled in a black custom Vera Wang gown. The tulle gown featured an extremely high front slit, but Taraji worked the red carpet like it was nothing. I also loved the sheer sleeve attachments. I feel like she always pushes the limits on the red carpet and she does a great job each time. | Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Gina Rodriguez sparkled in a nude Zuhair Murad gown. As soon as I saw this dress, it seemed so familiar to me and I still can’t shake that feeling. But nonetheless, this dress was gorgeous. I loved the low cut neckline, the silver embellishment, and the train. As she walked the red carpet with her beau, she looked like a beautiful princess in love! | Photo Source:  Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Zendaya will always appear on my “Looks I Love” series. She’s the fashion inspiration of her generation. Tonight, the Greatest Showman star kept it neutral in a brown Giambattista Valli Haute Couture dress. The chiffon dress showcased an off the shoulder look and she looked like a chic goddess. Zendaya dresses her age and doesn’t try to conform to any specific look or expectation, and that’s what I absolutely love about her. | Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Margot Robbie was part of one of the biggest fashion trends of the night. Many actresses showed up in neutral colors, specifically white. The Best Actress nominee was stunning in a white Chanel dress. The off the shoulder dress featured some detail draped across the neckline before going off to form sleeves. The corset bodice clung perfectly to her, making her a vision in white. Out of all the white dresses, this was definitely my favorite. | Photo Source: Source: Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Emma Stone was absolutely stunning tonight. And she wasn’t even wearing a lavish gown. She went a complete 180 from last year’s golden and glamorous Givenchy gown. She walked the red carpet and presented in a Louis Vuitton pantsuit. She wore a maroon colored, satin blazer belted with pink. She kept it simple on the bottom with some black slacks and black heels. I liked how she went against the norm tonight. Emma’s one of those actresses that keeps it real. I wish I could be BFFs with Emma [and Jennifer Lawrence]. | Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

While the above looks were my favorites, those weren’t the only looks I loved! Here are a few other looks that caught my eye tonight:

Looks I Love: Oscars 2017

Red carpet season has officially come to an end and the stars of the season made sure they all looked good at Hollywood’s biggest award show, the Academy Awards. I started out with 15 looks that I love, but then I narrowed it down to 13. I probably should’ve narrowed it down more, but I practically loved everything I saw!

Photos Courtesy of Zimbio.

5 under 25

Olivia Culpo (24) – The former Miss USA stunned in a grey gown, custom made by Marchesa. Not only did she look good with the fringe, but she did some good with that dress, partnering with Stella Artois and Water.org.

Karlie Kloss (24) – I’m still wondering what Karlie Kloss was doing at the Academy Awards, but either way, she rocked it. We all know she’s used to the runway, so she made walking the red carpet look like a walk in the park. She looked fierce in the all white ensemble by Tom Ford. The cape, the jewelry, the hair…it was everything. Also, Karlie was one of the many celebrities wearing a blue ribbon showing their support for the ACLU.

Sofia Carson (23) – Sofia is known for playing the daughter of the evil queen from Snow White, but tonight she looked like an absolute princess. She chose to walk her first Oscar’s red carpet with a Monique L’huillier gown. The gold detail on the dress matched perfectly with the gold hairpiece. The sweetheart neckline was perfect for her as well!

Hailee Steinfeld (20) – Hailee looked gorgeous. I absolutely had no words when I first saw her rocking that Ralph and Russo dress. I’m glad she had her hair up, because she showed off the beautiful halter style neckline. The floral detail from head to toe made the dress look so beautiful and elegant.

Auli’i Cravalho (16) – She made her debut at the Oscars in a white gown by Rubin Singe. This dress also had some gold detail that made it look like shells on the beach, fitting for the “Moana” star.  I’m sure it’s not an easy task to walk the red carpet for the first time among so many veteran actors and actresses, but she did amazing. Her look was simple, yet perfect for her.

Red Carpet #RelationshipGoals

chrissyteigen89thannualacademyawardsi1ipzk-bog6x

Chrissy Teigen & John Legend – These two are known to be #RelationshipGoals. Chrissy chose to go with a white dress by Zuhair Murad. It was a bit conservative with long sleeves, but the high slit gave it the sexy look. The silver details and the belt were perfect for the dress and accentuated the right places! John definitely complimented her in his Gucci  tuxedo.

Jessica Biel & Justin Timberlake – I’m not used to seeing these two together on the red carpet, but in their rare appearance together, they looked perfect. Jessica chose to go gold in Kaufman Franco. She shined, while Justin looked so dapper in Tom Ford.

Very Velvet

Brie Larson – Last year, Brie stunned and won in a blue Gucci dress. This year she continued to win the red carpet in a black velevt Oscar de la Renta piece. The mermaid style dress paired with the neckline is absolutely stunning. This dress is probably in my top 5.

Taraji P. Henson – Taraji always looks good on the red carpet and she always looks fierce in whatever she decides to wear. Today, she graced the Oscars red carpet in an Alberta Ferreti gown. I believe the color is a deep violet, which looks great on her skin tone. It was a simple and classic look yet super sexy with the low cut and high leg slit.

Best Supporting Actresses

Alicia Vikander – Last year, Alicia stole our hearts in a yellow Louis Vuitton gown as she accepted her Oscar for the Best Supporting Actress. This year she decided to tone down the color with a simple black dress by the same designer, Louis Vuitton. The layers, the ruffles, the lace, the necklace – it looked perfect for Alicia’s petite figure.

Viola Davis – Viola walked the red carpet and accepted her Oscar in a red (or maybe blood orange) Armani Prive gown. The off-the-shoulder gown looked so elegant and classic. I noticed most of the actresses walking the red carpet wore some neutral colors, so I’m glad that Viola confidently chose to go with a brighter color. I’m always looking forward to her acceptance speeches and she delivered hers looking as beautiful as ever.

The Emmas

Emma Roberts – I caught the red carpet coverage pretty late and Emma Roberts was pretty much the first person I saw. And let me tell you, she looked so stunning. I know it’s a somewhat simple look, but the two tone (black and white) Armani Prive dress looked so perfect on her. She looked like she stepped out of an old classic Hollywood film, especially with her hair and makeup. I must also note that she worked with Red Carpet Green Dress again, wearing a sustainable dress! I think it’s safe to say she was my favorite look of the night.

Emma Stone – I will always love Emma Stone. She may be this Hollywood A-lister, but she just seems to down to earth and is definitely a loveable dork. But enough of me acting like a fangirl. She yet again looked like a classic Hollywood actress in this gold Givenchy number. This dress looked like it was inspired by 1920s flappers, with the tiered fringe. She pulled it off and wore it confidently!

Adele’s Top 5 Best Dressed List: 2015 Oscars

If you didn’t know it already, my favorite season is red carpet season and the 87th Annual Academy Awards marked the end of this year’s award season. I mean, I think the next big award show is the MTV Movie Awards right? But we won’t be seeing Oscar dresses on that red carpet (Although I’m quite excited to see who’s look will be making everyone talk).

Anyways, I chose my top 5 looks of the night and let me tell you, it was not an easy choice. Out of all the celebs that walked that Oscar red carpet, I flagged about 13 dresses and it was hard to narrow it down.

Here’s a little disclaimer before I get started: I am in no way a fashion guru and if I were to be honest I don’t know enough to tell the difference between the fashion designers’ styles. So again, these are just my opinions and what I find most appealing to my eye. I like what I like, you like what you like, so feel free to disagree with me, agree with me, whatever you’d like to do.

Oh and before I move forward, I also did a VLOG version of this post! I’m not too proud of it (I think I sounded boring), but you can check that out here:

WITHOUT FURTHER ADO, my top 5 looks of the night:

#5 Katie Cassidy
Katie Cassidy has always been one of my favorite fashionistas and she blew me away on the Oscars red carpet! I was a bit surprised to see her on the red carpet. Don’t get me wrong, I love her and I’m proud of her success with Arrow. With that being said, her look stood out to me more than some of the nominees. She wore a sheer, silver gown by Julien MacDonald and when I saw the pictures I thought she looked so beautiful. It was a different dress with the detail, but the sleeves, the low cut, the off the shoulder look..everything was perfect.

#4 Anna Kendrick
The Into the Woods actress was one of the firsts to walk the red carpet at the 2015 Oscars, and while I may be biased because I absolutely adore Anna Kendrick, she gets the #4 spot on my best dressed list. When I first saw her step out on that red carpet, that custom coral Thakoon gown stole my heart. My first thought: “Is it too early to say Anna Kendrick gets best dressed of the night?” I guess it was too early, but she is still made my list. I mean, a lot of people probably were saying it’s too simple but I loved it anyway. The coral color screamed spring time and the diamond neck piece that held it together was absolutely beautiful. The updo and makeup complimented the whole look as well! She’s a princess 🙂

#3 Jennifer Lopez
Now I saw a lot of people had some negative and differing opinion’s about J. Lo’s look, but I thought her nude Elie Saab gown was beautiful! J. Lo never ages and she rocked that red carpet and flaunted what she got. Haters gonna hate, but she could care less. I also loved the addition of the belt to accent the waist and the detail of the sequins and don’t even get me started on the train. It was huge, but it was beautiful and it made her look like the belle of the ball! Now I know, Robert Duvall’s wife was practically wearing the same dress in a peach color (and without the belt), and don’t get me wrong, she looked beautiful too, but J. Lo stood out more to me. She strutted down the red carpet in true J. Lo style, confident and fierce.

#2 Rosamund Pike
There were a lot of red dresses among this year’s red carpet and Rosamund Pike’s Givenchy dress was my favorite! It was a strapless, lace gown that had a slit down the middle, and the whole thing reminded me of a rose. The little belt/cinched waist accentuated her figure and she looks so good considering she had a baby back in December! If you looked at the gown from the back, the top part was sort of like a corset and I thought that was really beautiful as well. Random fact: Gone Girl was the only nominated movie I had watched!

#1 Emma Stone
If you don’t love Emma Stone, what is wrong with you? No, but really, Emma Stone always looks so good on the red carpet and her in this Elie Saab dress landed her at my number 1 spot on this list. Normally, I’m not a fan of green/yellow dresses, but this color, chartreuse?, was absolutely beautiful on her skin tone. The beading flowing down from the top to the bottom of the gown was different for me, but I LOVED IT. I also loved that it had sleeves and all, but then Emma was a bit daring with the leg slit and the backless portion. It was both sexy and sophisticated. And of course the tinted lip color added to the whole look. She was stunning and that is all.

Honorable mentions. Remember when I said I flagged about 13 looks? Well some of the other actresses that caught my eye included:
– Dakota Johnson
– Jenna Dewan-Tatum
– Reese Witherspoon
– America Ferrera
– Jennifer Hudson
– Jennifer Anistonoscars

And a shoutout to all the handsome men in their tailored suits. These men were my favorite of the night looking so dapper and suave:
– Chris Pine in Georgio Armani
– Adam Levine in Georgio Armani
– Ansel Elgort in Prada
– Miles Teller in Prada
– Josh Hutcherson in Ermenegildo Zegna Couture
– Neil Patrick Harris in Brunello Cucinelli

oscarsguys

And there you have it! My top looks of the 2015 Oscars! What were your favorites of the night?

XOXO,
Adele
