Looks I Love: 2018 People’s Choice Awards

The People’s Choice Awards is one of my favorite award shows because it’s catered to the fans. It covers everything from movies, television, music, and fashion. It might be a little different this year due to E!’s takeover, but one thing that remains the same is the celebrities slaying the red carpet.

Camila Mendes

The Riverdale star walked the red carpet in a white, strapless dress. The Etro dress featured some floral detail, but my favorite part about it is the yellow lining and little block of yellow folded over. Tonight, Camila was nominated for Female TV Star of 2018 for her role in Riverdale. |Photo Source: Zimbio|

Sabrina Carpenter

She was definitely one of my faves of the night rocking a pinstripe suit by Tom Ford like a boss. She walked the red carpet and presented with such confidence. The young singer/actress just released her 3rd album, “Singular Act”, which you can stream on Spotify or purchase exclusively at Target! |Photo Source: Zimbio|

Rita Ora

Before taking the stage to perform “Let You Love Me”, the British singer-songwriter wore a periwinkle blue Versace dress with beautiful gold accents and matching boots. She exuded elegance. It’s definitely a far cry from her Post Malone Halloween costume. She took some time off from music to pursue acting, but is getting back on the saddle with a new album coming out this month. |Photo Source: Zimbio|

Victoria Beckham

Tonight, Victoria Beckham was presented with the Fashion Icon award and she truly deserved it. She wore a white power suit from her own collection and although it’s been a while since she’s been in the actual spotlight, she rocked it flawlessly. On another note, I loved the little ode to the Spice Girls! |Photo Source: Zimbio

Shay Mitchell

Shay Mitchell took some time off from her busy schedule and graced the red carpet in a maroon, halter style dress by Australian designer Toni Maticevski. The former Pretty Little Liars star has been busy since the iconic show has ended, starring in Lifetime’s You and soon to be seen on the big screen in The Possession of Hannah Grace. The other day, she even won YouTuber of the Year at the 2018 Revolve Awards! |Photo Source: Zimbio|

Bonus: Harry Shum Jr.

I adore Harry Shum Jr. and in my opinion he is one of the most fashionable men in the entertainment world. He wore a black, slim fit slacks and paired it with a double breasted black and grey blazer. His show Shadowhunters took home four awards, including his win for Male TV Star of 2018. Earlier today, him and his wife, Shelby Rabara, both announced that they’re expecting and the Gleek in me is so happy for the two! | Photo Source: Zimbio |Shelby Rabara IG |

Now Watching: You 1×6 |”Amour Fou” | Recap

Surprise bitches, Peach is not dead, much to Joe’s dismay. Beck’s bestie is on to him despite making her friends think she has a stalker. Joe never seems to finish the job on the first try.

The event has Beck by Peach’s side almost 24/7 and God forbid Joe would let that happen. So when Beck revealed she would be spending a few days with Peach at the Salinger estate in Greenwich, CT, Joe immediately went to his trusty friend the internet to find the place.

His road trip starts a little rocky when karma hits in the image of a deer. Joe swerves, crashes, and then wakes up the next morning daydreaming about his ex-girlfriend Candice. He gets the strength to move his car, but doesn’t get too far as a cop pulls him over. Of course, Joe is quick on his feet and makes up a story that seems to get him in the clear, or so he thinks.

Joe manages to sneak into the Salinger estate, but shortly after he faints from a concussion with a needle in his head. Candice enters his mind again and he’s reminded of a past getaway. He wakes up just as Peach and Beck get back.  He watches Peach watch Beck and has the audacity to call it perverse. After peeing in a jar on display, he creeps out of the house and is not slick at all.

Peach invites an old friend, Raj, to get a little drug party on, just like old times. While the three catch up, Joe looks for the gun Peach has hiding. He’s successful, but immediately hides under the bed as they enter the room to have a so called massage train. Raj passes out, while Peach gets a little handsy. Joe starts to see Candice and starts to compare his ex and his current in an inner monologue.

Drugs are not enough for Beck to forget she has a boyfriend and steps away from Peach’s advances. As she leaves, Raj and Peach hook up and Joe casually responds to Beck’s text from under the bed. Peach’s little game helps Beck make her decision about moving to Paris with the heiress. She turns her down and the whole conversation blows up. Beck storms out the door, while Peach scream, “You just use people.” And just like that, the friendship is over again.

Joe is proud of Beck, but his concussion doesn’t let him enjoy it because he has another flashback about Candice. But instead of a sweet memory, his mind goes back to the day he assumes Candice is cheating. She tries to explain herself, but he’s too jealous to understand. Once he gets back to the present, Peach knocks him out.

When Joe wakes up, Peach is hovering over him with her gun. He claims to be there to pick up Beck, but Peach finally realizes the Joe is her stalker. She also realizes that he’s wearing Benji’s watch. The two argue about who’s better for the aspiring writer and Joe gets in Peach’s head, “She’s never gonna do it. You can’t have her.” Joe runs and Peach shoots. She hits his leg and thinks he’s unconscious. But as Peach hovers yet again, he catches her off guard. The two struggle and a gun shot is heard in the distance.

Joe succeeded in removing another obstacle. He cleans his mess and uses what he knows about Peach to write a suicide letter. Joe drives away as police collect evidence at the Salinger estate. The same cop that stopped Joe earlier in the day happens to be at the crime scene as well. He actually ran the Joe’s license plate and his hunch about Joe is confirmed. I hope they find Joe’s urine on the shelf.

I also hope that Joe realizes that Beck is never going to forgive herself for what happened to Peach.

TLDR Version:

Peach is alive. Peach tries to seduce Beck with trips and kisses. Beck misses Joe. Joe pees in a jar. The bestie and bff argue about who’s better for Beck. Beck leaves Peach. Joe shoots Peach with her own gun and makes it look like a suicide. Joe is Beck’s night in shining armor again.

Now Watching: You 1×5 |”Living with the Enemy” | Recap

On this week’s episode of You, Joe and Beck have shacked up. Although we all know Joe is a little much when it comes to “protecting” Beck, he seems to have inspired her to start writing. One morning as Beck writes, she hears Paco’s parents arguing and Joe makes a comment about not meddling with people’s lives. :Insert eyeroll here:

Then comes girl’s night with Joe. Joe spends the night analyzing every flaw Beck’s friends have and something tells me he’ll be using it to his advantage. Peach is still trying to get Joe to confess to his crime of stealing, but Joe is just as sassy back.

Out of all of Beck’s friends, Annika seems to take a liking to Joe and vice versa, but it could also be their disdain for Peach Salinger that brings them together. Joe suggests that Annika post a throwback picture of her and Peach. She does it, but let’s just say it’s not a very flattering picture.

Later on, Joe’s dream date with Beck is interrupted when an anonymous user posts a very incriminating video of Annika. This just screams Peach. Joe is determined to stay one step ahead of Peach so he starts to follow her around and even takes up running. After following her around, his main task involves Peach’s laptop.

Joe comes home to Paco reading on the stairs. What’s new? Well this time, he’s reading a book on juvenile prosecuting. Seems that our little Paco is fed up with his stand-in father. Joe tries to convince Paco that he shouldn’t go the violent route and suggests a new book, “The Count of Monte Cristo”. “It’s about revenge and living with the enemy,” he says confidently.

The next night, Peach throws a party so she can introduce Beck to well-known agent, Roger Stevens. This earns her some points, but to be honest it may ruin her other opportunity from her adviser. While Beck mingles, Peach and Joe have a little snark fest. One thing they both agree on, Beck has no idea what’s best for her.

Joe finds an opportunity to steal Peach’s laptop and belongings. Instead of trying to guess the password, he looks through her other things and finds an old picture of Beck. Pervy Joe proceeds to masturbate to said picture in his bookstore basement. As he returns upstairs, he overhears Roger and Peach discussing Beck’s lack of writing expertise. He returns everything but the laptop and the picture.

He’s not sure how to crack the password, so he enlists Annika to get some information. All he gets is Annika venting about the label the whole world, especially Peach gave her. Beck saves him with a call warning him that Peach is searching his apartment for her laptop. After arguing back and forth with Beck in the middle, Joe suggests “Find my computer” and of course, the laptop is at Peach’s.

Peach storms out and Joe snaps at Beck for not coming to his defense. Joe then tells Beck what he overheard and boy was that the wrong move. Of course, this pushes Joe to find out what’s on the laptop. He cracks the password, “beckalicious”, and finds a folder with Beck’s initials. Joe realizes he’s not the only one watching Beck’s every move, when he sees photos and videos of his girlfriend. “Beck, you’ve got a stalker,” he says. The nerve of this guy. I mean, both of you are in love with Beck, so spare me the stalker talk.

Things fall into place for Joe’s revenge against Peach. Turns out Roger Stevens is a douchebag who doesn’t know how to keep it in his pants. After being shot down by Beck, he then confirms what Joe said about Peach. “Joe was right, you live to cut down your friends,” Beck says putting Peach in her place. For the first time, Beck walks away from Peach and it’s quite sad.

When Beck goes to apologize to Joe, their time is yet again interrupted by Peach. Beck (and Joe) comes running when Peach reveals she popped some pills before apologizing. But damn, Peach should be an actress with the show she pulls. Joe catches on, but Beck is still naive. Beck stays over at Peach’s and just like that Joe admits defeat.

Or not. Joe remembers why he took up running and finally catches up to Peach. He knocks her out with a rock and runs away with an inner monologue about murdering her. She never saw him coming.

When Joe comes home satisfied with what he did to Peach, he sees Paco hovering over his mother’s boyfriend. He overdosed (Paco’s doing), but Joe saves him. Too bad he’s ungrateful and starts beating Joe to a pulp. It’s karma. But the real karma is when Beck calls about Peach’s attack. “She’s alive?” he says in disbelief. She’s alive, bitches.

TLDR Version:

Joe and Beck are trying to live their best lives together, but there’s one person in the way. Peach Salinger. Through Joe’s stalking tactics, he finds that he isn’t the only one obsessed with Beck. Peach and Joe battle it out for Beck’s attention and while Peach is one step ahead, Joe takes the win by almost murdering the heiress.

Now Watching: You 1×4 |”The Captain”| Recap

After last week‘s 8 second catastrophe in bed, tonight’s episode starts off in Beck’s head. We’re normally used to hearing Joe’s voiceover, but this time Beck has a lot of say. After some very awkward silence between the two, Beck is saved by a text from “the Captain”. From the sounds of it, Beck has some sort of sugar daddy.

And since Joe has access to Beck’s messages, he’s having a bit of a meltdown. As Beck hides in the bathroom secretly texting “The Captain”, Joe storms off.

The next morning, Beck tries to find comfort in her friends. After some emojis of an eggplant and a hotdog, one question comes up, “Is he worth it?” and she seems to consider it. Later on, we see Beck text back that he is worth it. Honestly, he isn’t, but that’s none of my business.

Beck has more pressing matters with “The Captain”. After borrowing some shoes from Peach’s collection and practically lying to her best friend, Beck arrives at a motel to meet the man in question. Before he arrives, Beck decides it’s time for some self service, but “The Captain” comes just in time. While the two meet, Joe is creepin’ from another room. What’s new?

The POV changes back to Joe and we see how he reacts after his first time with Beck. Joe is stuck on the fact that Beck texted “love ya” back to another man. She didn’t even say that to Benji! Beck clearly doesn’t mean it, especially from her POV earlier in the episode, but it’s enough to convince Joe that he needs to get rid of another obstacle.

And here comes the twist. “The Captain” happens to be Beck’s dad! At least that’s how she greets him. All this time, we’ve been left to believe Beck’s dad overdosed. But here he is, taking his daughter to a Dickens festival. Joe and I have the same question, “Why is he your secret, Beck?”

Beck would rather be anywhere else than at a Dickens festival with her Dad and his other family. There is so much contrast between Beck’s sarcastic thoughts and what actually comes out of her mouth. When her little brat of a stepsister reveals that her Dad can’t provide for her anymore and the fact that a new Beck is on the way, all she does is smile. And jets off to the nearest bar.

While Beck lied to Peach about where she was going for the weekend, Peach happened to tell her own white lie. She went to the bookstore to find Joe and her copy of “Ozma of Oz”, but bookstore employee Ethan revealed that Joe is out of town. This prompts Peach to call her best friend and it’s not looking good for the bookstore manager.

Except we all know Joe can cover things up pretty easily. He reveals that he followed her through her post on social media. But honestly that doesn’t make it less creepy. The things you do for love I guess? But yet again, Joe somewhat becomes Beck’s knight in shining armor, protecting her from the awkwardness of being alone with her Dad’s other family.

Before dinner, Beck tells Joe the truth about her father and how he overdosed, got better and disappeared after relapsing. He was dead to her up until recently. At the family dinner, Beck is finally pushed to the edge when her father’s wife Nancy keeps butting in on her conversation. Instead of the sweet Beck that’s been sucking it up, she finally said what’s on her mind.

Joe finds Beck and the first thing out of his mouth is, “Do you want him dead?” Bro, that’s not an appropriate question, especially from you. Joe keeps saying things that aren’t helping and Beck tells him off. I’ve never been so proud.

Taking both Joe and Peach’s advise, Beck uses her interaction with her father as inspiration. She ends up writing something that moves the arrogant co-TA, Blythe. After, she visits Joe to apologize and have another bed encounter. Too bad Joe was not prepared. He didn’t have time to hide Beck’s journal, the phone, and the panties he stole. While they make out he strategically hides everything. Beck’s too distracted anyways.

The morning after, Beck officially apologize for being, in her words, “a hostile goose”. Beck likes herself better when she’s with Joe and that Lauv song began to play in my head. But as she praises Joe for not trying to be someone else, my inner feelings are screaming to not trust this dude. This is exactly why I don’t trust anyone.

While Joe redeems himself in bed with Beck, Peach still has trust issues. Because of this, Joe sneaks in and returns the book he stole. Apparently he never intended to keep it. Either way, if Peach keeps rejecting JoeBeck, Joe has a new next target and from the look of next week’s preview, Peach is definitely in danger.

Now Watching: You 1×3 | “Maybe” | Recap

Last week on You, Joe went on his first date with Beck and finally got rid of the man in the middle, Benji. Joe doesn’t realize that he’s not good enough for Beck either, especially considering the circumstances.

Things between Joe and Beck are going smoothly as they walk hand in hand getting to know each other. Beck confesses her forever movie is Pretty In Pink and Joe eats it up during his inner monologue – typical. When Beck asks about his ex Candice, he has the perfect answer. Now I really want to know. His inner monologue continues as he watches Beck walk to her apartment and he remembers he has to get rid of the body he left in the bookstore basement.

He’s still keeping appearances on social media to make it seem that Benji is just partying hard and everyone believes it. But other than that, Joe has no idea what he’s doing. He can’t just Google it. He has to be smart about it, but his stomach can’t handle it.

Beck meets with her girlfriends later in the day recapping her new TA position and her Tinder hookup from the night before. Little does she know, Joe is sitting at the bar eavesdropping. “Joe’s still a maybe,” she says out loud, while Peach rolls her eyes and Joe stresses TF out. Both Joe and Peach don’t want to see Beck hooking up with other people. But Joe still watches from across the street as Beck bangs the barista.

The Tinder news is the push Joe needs to finally get the guts to get rid of Benjie. But it’s said when he gets young Paco to get a few items: potassium nitrate, six rolls of duct tape, fire starter, twine, burlap, wood stamps, tarp, and potting soil. Science project?

While Paco gets the stuff, Joe takes the time to go on a shopping spree with Beck. She thinks he has such perfect timing. Joe almost slips up again when he states that her bedroom isn’t big enough to fit a king sized bed. But again, he’s quick on his feet. And quick to go down. They have a moment on a bed in a shop as Beck feels unremarkable which leads to a make out sesh, that is quickly shot down when they are almost caught having oral sex in public. Beck’s not in the mood and Joe stops thinking about it when the electricity goes down at the bookstore.

It’s time for Joe to finally suck it up and get rid of the body. But not before heading to Beck’s to help with her new bed. Beck then reveals why she didn’t enjoy that public display of affection. She likes Joe…actually likes him. And I hate the fact that I think this scene is cute. Joe gets Beck to open up and finally hears her story about her Dad and his red ladle. The red ladle symbolizes happy times with her father, not the perverted story Benji had up his sleeve.

Things start to get heated, but Peach has perfect timing with some bladder issues, showing up unannounced. Joe drives them to the ER, but Peach can’t stand the smell. Makes sense considering there is a dead body. Later on, Peach recovers at the hospital and Beck thinks it’s the right time to ask her what she thinks about Joe. She does not approve, especially due to his financial situation. That’s shallow, but we all know Peach just loves Beck.

As Joe returns home to finish his job, he’s met by the police and Paco’s step dad, Ron. He found the list, but Joe was prepared with a secret garden. Ron explains that he was a parole office and he has a bad feeling about Joe, but only proves that his relationship with his girlfriend’s son is a bit estranged as he yells at Paco.

Joe FINALLY gets some time to rid the world of Benji, but Beck decides to call to continue their little bed party. Unfortunately, he’s a little too distracted especially when two people are walking in the woods at night. The pressure gets to him and he has a little word vomit, practically yelling at Beck for giving him mixed signals. He hangs up in a rush, sets the body on fire and invites the hikers to join his bonfire. Lucky for him, they decline.

Joe’s a little heartbroken when Beck ignores his calls. But she had better things to worry about like her poem piece for her TA workshop, which she didn’t even get a chance to read. Beck was then inspired to open up again. “If i’m sending mixed messages, it’s because I don’t know who I am, so how am I supposed to know what I want?,” Beck confesses. Same, Beck, same. Then she goes on a spiel about not knowing anything about Joe or his friends. He’s so willing to let her in on who Joe is, he invites her to the downstairs basement. And I’m screaming at Beck to not go down there!

The mysterious bookkeeper explains what they keep in the basement and I’m having deja vu considering this is the same exact thing he said to Paco. I’m sure he’s going to keep out the fact that he also keeps dead bodies.  He may even have “Ozma of Oz” down there, which Peach later notices is missing. Beck deletes Tinder and all is well in the Joe/Beck world, until Joe finishes in less than 15 seconds.

How is this show so funny, cute, thrilling, and disturbing at the same time?

xoxo,

Adele

Now Watching: You 1×2| “The Last Nice Guy in New York” | Recap

After last week‘s little “meet cute”, Joe is quite excited for his date with his latest obsession, Beck. The mysterious book keeper is found dancing around his apartment before watching Beck through the window yet again. To much of Joe’s dismay, Beck’s mind is still a little preoccupied with the fact that her so-called boyfriend, Benji, dropped off the face of the earth.

Because of this little dilemma, Joe decides to have a heart to heart with the trust fund baby living in the bookstore basement. Joe didn’t succeed in killing Benji the first time and now he has no idea what to do with him. It’s quite funny when Joe offers Benji breakfast, but alas he’s allergic to gluten. Sushi works, but it’s really not that type of situation.

After Benji denies having a girlfriend, he finally has an epiphany, realizing that Joe was the man in the cab. Benji could care less about Beck and practically gives Joe his blessing. That only really proves that Benji doesn’t deserve the girl at all.

Later in the day, the date finally happens. Beck goes into why she started writing and Joe goes into why he loves to read. But it’s interrupted when Peach calls Beck in regards to Benji. Joe takes this as a push to finish the job he started. Some may think that means kill the guy, but really Joe utilizes his social media skills to make it seem that Benji is off somewhere hooking up with other girls and getting high – which is what he usually does anyway.

Beck spends time with her girls agonizing over Benji and her perverted thesis advisor. The topic of sleeping with said professor comes up, and let’s just say that Joe isn’t the only one who has an obsession with Beck. From the way Peach squashed the “sleep with prof” idea,  it seems there’s a little more to it. But maybe not, especially when Peach brings up her anniversary of her parents’ divorce party.

Back in the basement, Joe is still prepping Benji’s social media. Benji can’t seem to believe that Joe is falling for Beck’s “hardworking writer” act. He’s still not winning any points in Joe’s book. Everyone perceives people differently. Benji tries to paint a picture in Joe’s head about Beck’s meeting with her advisor and Beck’s advisor has the same idea. But they are both far from the truth and Professor Pervy (yes, I’m calling him that) takes away the one thing Beck has been working for because of this.

But Joe comes to the rescue again. After Beck calls him to meet up, Joe steps up his flirting game as the two of them people watch. Beck starts talking about her day saying, “I’m starting to think I’m some kind of magnet for like dudes with serious issues.” I rolled my eyes as Joe smiled. And then Beck invites him to Peach’s party.

Remember Paco, Joe’s little prodigy? Well as he reads Joe’s latest recommendation, Frankenstein, I can’t help but think Joe is trying to justify himself as a hero. “He’s bad, but not all bad…”, Paco describes the monster, that is until Joe goes all bat shit crazy when Paco makes his way down to the basement.

Beck decides to spend a little time with Peach and complains about her financial woes. But the great Peach Salinger tries to save the day. Her intentions are nice, but Beck doesn’t want Peach to save her.

Before the party, Joe plays a little mind game with Benji and his artisanal soda. If he guesses which one is his soda, he gets to leave. But like Joe said earlier, Benji is a fraud and knows nothing about his own brand. After failing, Benji tries to get into Joe’s head again about Beck. Beck doesn’t want Joe. She wants to fit in, blah blah blah.

At the party, Joe is very quick to judge. This isn’t his type of party, nor are these people. “Brown people don’t bite,” Peach cracks a joke about Brown University students and both Joe and I raise our eyebrows. As Joe explores the great Salinger house, he finds a book that takes him back to his younger years working at the book store. And this is where we find out why Joe may have turned out the way he did. As a young teenager, it seems he didn’t read as much and it’s very clear to Mr. Mooney, the old owner. Mr. Mooney locks him in the basement box and it must be satisfying for Joe now to be in the position of the captor.

Peach interrupts his thoughts and I adore how inquisitive she is. She knows that Joseph is hiding something and that 2nd Joe/Beck meeting was not a coincidence. She tries to make it clear that Joe isn’t good enough and succeeds a little when Joe sees Beck with Benji 2.0. It’s quite sad, if you ask me. Here Joe is, trying to see past the surface and what Benji sees. But here’s Beck and everyone in her life sending him mixed signals. That is until Beck pays Joe a little visit on the balcony. He’s quite inspiring when Beck reveals that she’s trying so hard to fit in. And then she leans in right before pushing Joe right into the friendzone, “I’m glad we’re friends.”

As they leave the party, someone from Joe’s past happens to be in attendance. She brings up Candice and the way she supposedly left. Joe plays the victim card insinuating that the girl in question broke things off with him to run away with someone new. But with the way Joe has been mentioning Candice, it seems like Beck may be a Candice 2.0.

But Joe’s not all bad. His little balcony pep talk inspired Beck to stand up to the people bringing her down. First on that list, Professor Pervy. A part of me thought that Beck was going to give in to Prof Pervy, but she stood right up to him, revealing that she and 6 other girls are ready to come forward. He tried to threaten Beck back, but she stood her ground. Joe isn’t all bad, right?

I mean, Joe woke up and remembered to go feed Benji. He rushed to Benji’s side only to find him getting a little frantic and making a mess. But after he calms down, Benji makes a little deal, “I’ll know your biggest secret, and you’ll know mine.” Joe takes it. Turns out Benji was involved in a hazing incident that led to a death and it was caught all on camera.

But Joe has too much to lose especially since Beck decided the friendzone may not be right for her new friend – things turned around after she brings him a donut and a kiss. He can’t risk Benji ruining Beck again, ruining her character and typecasting her into something she isn’t. Benji was wrong about Joe not being a killer. And I bet he regretted that thought as he gulped down his coffee order, falling to the ground due to that damn peanut allergy.

TLDR version because I wrote too much:

Joe starts dating Beck, slowly pushing Benji out of the picture.
Beck introduces Joe to her so-called world.
Peach doesn’t like Joe. The feeling is mutual.
Joe convinces Beck to stand up for herself.
Joe’s not all bad. or something like that.
Joe kills Benji with peanut sauce.

So far, I’m intrigued. What are your thoughts?

xoxo,

Adele

Looks I Love: NYFW 2018

It’s that time of the year again! On Sept. 6, 2018, people from all over the world flocked to New York to kick off the annual event, New York Fashion Week. Designers showed off their Spring/Summer 2019 lines, while the world’s biggest fashionistas sat front row.

Now, the reason I love NYFW is because I love to see what my favorite celebrities are wearing for the Pre-Fall season. Here are the top 5 celebs I was on the lookout for:

Jamie Chung

I look for Jamie Chung at NYFW every year because she’s one of my fashion inspirations. Due to some scheduling conflicts, she had a shorter trip this year and only made it to a few events and runway shows. But someone has to play Blink on Fox’s The Gifted and Jamie’s on it!

Jamie kicked off the week at the opening of Refinery29’s 29 Rooms pop-up exhibit with this years theme, Expand Your Reality. She chose to wear a two-piece tartan outfit by PAPER London. Jamie can pull off anything and she confidently did it with this outfit and was even spotted doing some high kicks in one of the rooms! | Photo Source: Astrid Stawiarz/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

The next day Jamie made a little stop to the Shopbop Diner with a super cute asymmetric skirt and polka dotted blouse. | Photo Source: Lars Niki/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

One of Jamie’s last stops at NYFW was the Nicole Miller Spring 2019 Runway Show. She killed it with a black and white striped boyfriend blouse paired with a metallic maxi skirt. | Photo Source: Nicole Miller Instagram |

Bonus Look: Jamie popped up at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) with a look that I absolutely adored. She wore a pajama striped Smythe pant suit. I love PJ inspired looks. Shay Mitchell

Shay Mitchell has proven to be a fashion force to reckon with over the past few years. The former Pretty Little Liars star took a few days off from promoting her new Lifetime mini-series You and kicked off fashion week at one of the most prestigious events, the Harper’s Bazaar “ICONS” Event.

She stepped out in a beautiful gold and silver Julien MacDonald gown from his Spring 2018 RTW line. She was stunning and accessorized perfectly with her jewelry and a gold clutch. In my opinion, she was the best dressed that night. | Photo Source: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

A few days later, Shay sat front row at the Zimmermann show and wore a dress from the Fall 2018 RTW Collection: Tempest Tucked Contour Mini. Shay has a great style team behind her! | Photo Source: Theo Wargo/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

On Sept. 12, Shay sat front row at Michael Kors among several other Hollywood actresses. She showcased her support for the designer in a black charmeuse and lace dress. | Photo Source: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Later that night, Shay rocked a bolder look, busting out some bangs at the Vanity Fair x Saks Fifth Avenue Best Dressed event. She showed off some leg in a mini Dundas dress and some Barbara Bui pumps.| Photo Source: Ben Gabbe/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Gemma Chan

With the success of Crazy Rich Asians, Gemma Chan is the new star to keep an eye out on! Just like her character, Astrid, she is proving to be a fashion icon. Gemma made her fashion week debut at the Tory Burch fashion show in a pink pant suit and I think Astrid Leong would be very proud. | Photo Source: Cindy Ord/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

A few days later, she reunited with her CRA co-star Awkwafina at the Prabal Gurung fashion show. Prabal Gurung was one of the designers she wore during press for Crazy Rich Asians. During NYFW she was a vision in red as she showed support for the Asian American designer. | Photo Source: Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Heart Evangelista

Heart Evangelista is the Philippines’ sweetheart. She has been an actress in the Philippines since she was in her teen years and has grown into one of the country’s biggest fashionistas.  Ever since I was young, I watched Heart on The Filipino Channel (TFC) and now on the GMA Network, and she’s still one of my favorite TV personalities. As a Filipino American, I’m so proud to see her making waves in the international fashion world.

Heart was first seen at the Tory Burch show rocking a Tibi power suit. The gingham get up is part of their Pre-Fall 2018 line. She also accessorized with a Tory Burch tote bag and add a pop of color with some red Louboutins. | Photo Source: Anna Webber/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

She then changed into a different ensemble for the Kate Spade presentation. She was head to toe in Kate Spade and with the white/blue dress and red shoes, I was getting some serious Dorothy vibes. | Photo Source: Instagram @iamhearte |

She ended her night at the Harper’s Bazaar “ICONS” Event in a beautiful custom made Mark Bumgarner gown, showing her support for local designers. It was such a beautiful dress. She fit in perfectly. | Photo Source: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Before leaving to go back to the Philippines, Heart made a stop at the Prabal Gurung show in another power suit. The hot red suit was from the designer’s Resort 2018 line.

Blake Lively

We all know Blake Lively is a huge fashion icon. She styles herself and rocks whatever she has on. So many people get on her about some of her fashion choices, but those opinions do NOT matter because Blake can hold her own.

She has been pretty busy promoting her latest movie, A Simple Favor, but she made some time in her busy schedule to attend the Ralph Lauren fashion show. She rocked a chic, black and white suit alongside her co-star Henry Golding and director Paul Feig. | Photo Source: Rob Kim/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Here are some honorable mentions:

Dianna Agron, one of my favorite Glee stars, came out from the shadows for NYFW. She attended both the Oscar De La Renta and Michael Kors shows wearing floral dresses from each designer.

Hailee Steinfeld looked fierce at the Tom Ford presentation and went tartan from head to toe at the Michael Kors show.

Barbara Palvin was spotted all over NYFW with boyfriend, Dylan Sprouse.  I think it’s safe to say that they are quite the fashionable couple. They made their red carpet debut at the Harper’s BAZAAR ‘ICONS’ event and ended NYFW at the Vanity Fair’s Best-Dressed 2018 party.

Which celebs were you on the lookout for? Any favorite looks?

Now Watching: You “Pilot” | A Recap

When you put three actors from three of my favorite shows ever, you better believe I’ll be watching. And with the tagline, “Not everyone wants to be followed,” one is lead to believe this is Gossip Girl x 100, which I am 100% okay with.

The series starts with a voice over by Joe (Penn Badgley) and I got major Gossip Girl vibes. Here Joe is, watching and recounting a girl’s every move right up until she approaches him. It’s creepy if you ask me, especially as he analyzes everything about her. You see, Joe’s a literary type. He’s a bookstore manager and seems to read people that he does books. When Joe and Beck (Elizabeth Lail) first interact, it’s oddly cute because they connect on the fact that people suck. Let’s face it…people are disappointing.  But as a viewer, the moment is ruined when Joe starts having pervy thoughts.

As Beck smiles and turns to leave the bookstore, Joe can’t keep his thoughts at bay. He feels like he needs to protect her from the world at all costs, but mainly from getting her heart broken like he did. How does he start? He Googles her. People do it all the time. But we all know Joe may go a little too far. “And there you were, every account set to public. You want to be seen, heard…known. Of course, I obliged,” Joe says to himself as a matter of fact. As Joe finds himself outside of Beck’s home staring at her in her towel through the window, I realize he’s that character that reminds us all to put all of our social media on private.

Joe memorizes Beck’s schedule, and I’m wondering when he’s going to “accidentally” run into her and have another so-called cute meeting. He even shows up at the bar where her and her friends celebrate a birthday. He hates them because they’re rich, snobby brats, especially that Peach (Shay Mitchell) – Beck’s nothing like them. “Your social media is a liar. It says you’re a happy go-lucky dilettante. But underneath it all, you seem like the genuine article,” Joe has a way of words. But when he gets jealous of booty call Benji, the on/off boyfriend, it’s a bit alarming. Benji leaves Beck unsatisfied. Moral of the story? Beck needs curtains. Ultimately, Joe needs to stop masturbating to Beck masturbating through the window.

Now, Joe doesn’t seem to have many friends, just like “Lonely boy”. But he seems to take on a big brother role for one of his neighbors’ child, Paco. It’s almost as if he wants to mold Paco to grow up just like him. It’s almost endearing. But when he brings up chivalry, I’m not sure Joe really knows what that is considering how he’s been stalking Beck. I almost spit out my water at the fact that Paco’s alcoholic stepfather sees right through Joe, calling him a freak.

The little interaction with the stepfather triggers something in Joe. He takes the stalking one notch higher, reporting a gas leak and simply walking in like it’s nothing. While Beck meets with her Professor, Joe goes directly to Beck’s laptop to get more dirt. Much to Joe’s dismay, Beck comes home earlier than expected and finds himself hiding in the shower. Luckily, Beck’s friends have perfect timing.

Off to Greenpoint we go! Beck has finally decided to participate in open mic night and let’s just say it was a train wreck. Her friends showed up for support, but hate the fact that they’re even there (Peach is a far cry from Shay Mitchell’s PLL character). Even Joe felt so bad, he had to leave. But fate brings the two together in a strange way. As Joe waits for his train, Beck and the drunk mess that she is, shows up too. In a flash, Beck falls over into the train tracks and Joe finally stops lurking in the shadows and becomes her knight in shining armor. But something tells me, this is exactly what Joe wanted.

As Beck sobers up she realizes how familiar Joe is. “I don’t want to sound like a stalker, but I think I know you,” she says, while I internally scream, “he’s the stalker!” Joe hails for a taxi and the naive Beck offers that he gets in on the ride. As Joe listens to Beck talk, we all know he already knows everything about her. Joe makes a rookie mistake when he mentions her poetry, but is quick enough to generalize that every young writer in New York writes poetry. Smooth, Joe, smooth.

Joe finally asks for Beck’s number as he drops her off at her apartment into Benji’s arms. But apparently she lost her phone at the subway, so email is the best communication. That doesn’t make sense because we saw she grabbed her phone, but she wasn’t sober enough to realize that and sadly, Joe just got to it first. As he leaves, he comes to a conclusion: Benji is not worthy of Beck’s time and he’s on a mission to make sure no more time is wasted.

And now comes the end of the Pilot episode? Remember when I mentioned that Joe and Paco’s relationship is a bit endearing? I’m not sure this relationship should continue. As Joe cheers the young boy up and shows him how to mend a ruined book spine in the private downstairs dungeon of the bookstore, he seems to reveal his plan for Benji. Lure him downstairs and hit him over the head with the right force, just like the spine of a book. And he succeeds. If only Benji got his head out of his ass, he’d realize that Joe is the guy that dropped off his girlfriend the other day. Serves him right, I guess. Joe has his chance and takes it, by asking Beck out via email of course.

TLDR version:

Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love with girl. Boy stalks girl. Boy saves girl from train. Boy kidnaps girl’s on/off boyfriend and hits him over the head. Boy scores a date with girl.

So far, I’m intrigued. What are your thoughts?

Adele

Looks I Love: NYFW (Red Carpet Edition)

It’s #FashionFriday and New York Fashion Week has officially come to an end for Fall 2017. This year fashion week kicked off on Thursday, September 7th and ended Wednesday night on September 13th. Cinq À Sept was one of the first shows and the week was full of other celebrations that tailored to Fashion Week, like Harper’s Bazaar “Icons” celebration.

While so many people flocked to New York to check out what will soon be trending in the fashion world during Spring/Summer 2018, I kept tabs on what my favorite celebrities were up to and what they were wearing.

Here’s a recap of a few of my faves! (Photos from Zimbio, unless stated otherwise)

Jamie Chung

I always look forward to Fashion Week because I know that Jamie Chung will be there! She’s made her way up the fashion totem pole and is almost always seen every year in the front row at the hottest shows.

Stylist: Jeff K. Kim. Hair: Yasmein Abdulla. Makeup: Brian Dean

She kicked off her NYFW journey at the Kate Spade Presentation, styled by her go to stylist Jeff K. Kim. Jamie wore a Kate Spade New York boho floral jacquard dress over black slacks. The dress comes with a detachable black bow at the collar, which she opted out of. But the look isn’t without a bow, as she decided to go for a black bow as a belt at the waist. The outfit was paired with appears to be a tusk colored Kate Spade “Cameron Street Jensen” tote bag.

Later that night, Jamie attended the Harper’s Bazaar “Icons” event. Styled by Jeff K. Kim with makeup done by Brian Dean, Jamie walked the red carpet with a Roberto Cavalli dress. After doing some research, this tiered, patterned dress looks like it may have been part of the Spring 2017 collection

jamiechungselfportraitspringsummer2018z6wpjgp35hql

On September 9th, Jamie showed some love to Han Chong at the Self Portrait show while rocking their Camo Lace Frill Jumpsuit. I’m loving the navy laced top as it gives the illusion that it’s a two piece outfit.

jamiechungjonathansimkhaifrontrowseptemberac8tspub4twl

The former Gotham star was last seen front row at the Jonathan Simkhai show alongside Sabrina Carpenter, Karen Gillan, and Shay Mitchell. She wore a black Jonathan Simkhai Dimensional Lurex Trumpet Skirt, which is part of Jonathan Simkhai’s Fall/Winter 2017 line, and paired it with a grey sweater.

Favorite Look: Jonathan Simkhai
Where can we see Jamie Chung next: She can be seen on Fox’s new show The Gifted which premieres on Oct. 2, 2017.

Ashley Benson

Ashley Benson has always been and will always be one of my favorite actresses. Over the past few years, we haven’t really seen Ashley attending Fall NYFW, but now that she’s a New York resident, it was definitely a bonus to see her this year. This year she turned to stylist Tara Swennen and had Chad Wood alongside for a fresh new hairstyle!

Stylist: Tara Swennen. Hair: Chad Wood. Makeup: Todd Delano

To start off her Fashion Week experience, she attended Refinery29’s ’29Rooms: Turn It Into Art’ event with a pair of black trousers by Dorothee Schumacher and a white (or baby blue) button down top from Brunello Cucinelli. A pair of black suspenders held the outfit together. While roaming around, she was also spotted with her signature leather jacket, which always makes her look so badass.

The next day, Ashley sat front row at the Jeremy Scott show with a different look compared to the night before. She opted for a Jeremy Scott hoodie from his Fall 2017 Ready-To-Wear collection, donning the image of Jesus. Who needs pants when you have these amazing Pollice Lee “Lily” boots?!

The other half of ButtahBenzo also happened to attend W Magazine’s “It Girl” luncheon. I wasn’t able to find a full size photo of her outfit, but it looks like she may have been rocking the Fleur Du Mal Double Breasted Short Blazer Dress. Also, Chad Wood did a great job with her hair.

Favorite Look: Refinery29’s ’29Rooms: Turn It Into Art’ event
Where can we see Ashley Benson next: Ashley’s taking a little break, as she should, considering Pretty Little Liars lasted a while.

Shay Mitchell

A part of me is a bit bummed we didn’t get any ButtahBenzo moments. Shay was slaying mostly every day during NYFW. She had so many looks to keep track of, but she looked like she had a lot of fun.

She was at one of the first shows of the week, the Cinq A Sept presentation. She was styled in black from head to toe by Marie-Lou Bartoli. She wore a black, off the shoulder Cinq A Sept dress with some Saint Laurent heels and a black Hermes bag.

The same night, she attended Refinery29’s ’29Rooms: Turn It Into Art’ event. She was styled by Mimi Cutrell in a Fausto Puglisi oversized shirt, no pants needed! The slicked back, high ponytail was styled by Laura Polko and makeup was done by Shay’s go to, Patrick Ta (assisted by Jen Tioseco).

Stylist: Unknown. Hair: Laura Polko. Makeup: Patrick Ta.

The next day, the Pretty Little Liars star was spotted front row at the Cushnie Et Ochs show. I wasn’t able to find the exact stylist Shay worked with, but they opted for a Cushnie Et Ochs white jumpsuit very similar to the “Valerie” jumpsuit seen in the Fall 2017 collection.

Stylist: Marie-Lou Bartoli. Hair: Unknown. Makeup: Ariel Tejada.

She then made her way to Harper’s Bazaar “Icons” event with an opposite colored look styled by Marie-Lou Bartoli. She wore a vintage (Pre-Fall 2013) Versace gown with a hint of gold. She had her make up done for the night by Ariel Tejada and had some sultry, smokey eyes.

Stylist: Marie-Lou Bartoli. Hair: Andrew Fitzsimons. Makeup: Patrick Ta assisted by Jen Tioseco

Just like Jamie Chung, Shay was seen front row at the  Jonathan Simkhai show. Styled by Marie-Lou Bartoli yet again, I had some Ariana Grande vibes from this look. She was seen rocking a Jonathan Simkhai white fur sweater from the Fall 2017 collection and a lace bodysuit from Pre-Fall 2017 collection under a pair of jeans. The combat boots and Shay’s bun done by Andrew Fitzsimons, completed the whole look.

Two days later, Shay was seen front row at the Anna Sui presentation. She looked like she stepped out of the 1970’s! She wore a gold two piece outfit (foiled diamonds wrap top & foiled diamond pants) from the Fall 2017 collection by Anna Sui. Completing the 70s look, Andrew Fitzsimons gave Shay some “big hair” with some curly locks.

shaymitchellnaeemkhanfrontrowseptembertdtgee3hw-pl

Stylist: Marie-Lou Bartoli. Hair: Andrew Fitzsimons. Makeup: Patrick Ta

Shay ended her NYFW stint at the Naeem Khan presentation on September 12. It was definitely a contrast from her look at the Anna Sui show. She wore a Caviar Beaded Dress With Long Sleeves from the Fall 2017 collection of Naeem Khan. Instead of pairing it with some heels, she opted with some Louis Vuitton boots. The slick long hair was also perfect!

Favorite Look: Naeem Khan
Where can we see Shay Mitchell next: Shay is in New York filming “You” an upcoming Lifetime show alongside lonely boy, Penn Badgley.

Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa took a little time off of being a judge on So You Think You Can Dance? and attended a few events at NYFW. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: Vanessa always rocks whatever she wears. She exudes confidence and that’s what I love about her.

vanessahudgensharperbazaarcelebratesiconsdfbpxcadianl

Stylist: Natalie Saidi (correct me if i’m wrong!). Hair: Andrew Fitzsimons. Makeup: ?

Like Shay Mitchell and Jamie Chung, Vanessa was seen at the Harper’s Bazaar “Icons” event. She was joined by long time beau, Austin Butler, and they looked amazing together. She wore a black gown by Jeremy Scott with some butterfly prints similar to what can be seen in his Fall 2017 Collection.

vanessahudgensjeremyscottlongchampjeremyt6szmf5u85bl

Stylist: Natalie Saidi (correct me if i’m wrong!) Hair: Chad Wood. Makeup: ?

A few days later she was sitting front row at the Jeremy Scott presentation alongside Spring Breakers co-star Ashley Benson and bf Austin Butler. She wore a black cut out dress and an orange colored bomber jacket, which I believe is by Jeremy Scott, but I’m unable to find it! If anyone knows where this jacket is from, please let me know. Chad Wood also hooked her up with some gorgeous hair extensions.

Favorite Look: Jeremy Scott
Where can we see Vanessa Hudgens next: SYTYCD & climbing mountains on NBC on Running Wild with Bear Grylls! set to air on Sept. 16.

And there you have it! My favorite people and their OOTDs during New York Fashion Week. What were your favorite looks?

It’s over. – A (A farewell post to Pretty Little Liars)

Dear PLL fandom,

I had no idea what I was getting myself into seven years ago on June 8, 2010 when the Pilot episode of Pretty Little Liars aired. I hadn’t read the books and I definitely hadn’t watched anything religiously on ABC Family. There was Greek, but that was on and off and no other original show on the network was able to captivate me.

At the time, my favorite show Smallville announced its final season, Gossip Girl was in between the 3rd and 4th season and another favorite, Glee, was finishing its first season.  But let’s face it, I was turning 21 and still much into those teenage, coming of age shows. Plus, Ashley Benson was my favorite (and still is). And as a huge fan, I had to support my girl!

So then the day came, the Pilot began and I was hooked. It started with 4 young girls starting a new school year one year after the leader of their pack went missing. The episode introduced us to the characters we’ve loved for seven seasons.

We were first introduced to Aria Montgomery, the artsy girl who went through a little goth phase, returning to Rosewood after one year in Iceland with her family. During that year, she held on to one huge secret: her dad’s affair with his student. Things also get complicated when she hooked up with her future English teacher, Ezra Fitz. The eye contact the two share during the revelation was one of the most iconic scenes of the series.

Next came Emily Fields, the sweet girl on the swim team, with the popular jock boyfriend.  I’d like to think she was part of a conservative family, with her mom part of the neighborhood welcoming committee and her father in the army. Life gets a little complicated when she is constantly reminded of [her love for] Alison, while a new girl moves into Alison’s old house. Sexuality is questioned and in a small town like Rosewood, that’s unheard of.

Spencer Hastings then graced us with her presence. She was almost the epitome of overachiever. With the Hastings name, you’ve got to be especially with Melissa Hastings as an older sister. Spencer was the girl involved with everything, intelligent and outspoken. She was striving for good grades to get into an ivy league college and follow in the footsteps of her lawyer parents. But then she strayed away from the perfection, when Melissa’s boyfriends decided that she may be the better Hastings daughter.

And then there was Hanna Marin, formally known as “Hefty Hanna”, who transformed over one summer to become one of the most popular girls in school. She lived in the shadow of Alison DiLaurentis. Getting body shamed by her “close” friend, her confidence and self esteem was low. Her father leaving her and her mom didn’t help, either. So Hanna’s motto was practically, “new year, new me” and with her new popular girl title along with a trusty sidekick, Mona Vanderwaal, she was able to step out of Alison’s shadow. But the whole problem was maintaining her top spot and getting the attention she longed for. Hanna Marin will always be my favorite character.

What did those 4 girls have in common? Alison DiLaurentis, the girl who knew all of their secrets. However, she was the girl they knew nothing about. She was the glue to the group up until she disappeared, but that suddenly changed when “Alison’s body” was found and an anonymous stalker decides to start playing mind games with the girls. Alison’s “death” brings the girls back together and just like that the Pilot set the whole premise of the show.

For seven years, Pretty Little Liars ruled social media. They’re practically known to be the most social television show on air, with so much social media engagement from fans. It’s safe to say that it was the pioneer of trending topics when it came to TV shows and live tweeting along around the world. It allowed fans and those involved with the show to communicate with each other. Every Tuesday since it has aired, fans have been able to get PLL trending with hashtags like #PLL, #WhoIsA, #betrAyal, #WorldWarA, #Poor[Insert character name], etc. And of course the main hashtag for this season, #PLLEndGame, which tailored not only to the game, but obviously to the PLL relationships. #Ezria, #Spoby, #Haleb, & #Emison. I was only a year into Twitter by the time the show aired, and it definitely had me talking and more active on the web. The downside was all the spoilers. But I didn’t have an issue – I absolutely loved/love spoilers.

I think people have learned over the years, that if you don’t want to be spoiled, you better stay off social media until you watch the episodes. It’s so much more fun to live tweet. That’s why I ended up having a separate twitter just for that fact.

Since the Pilot, I’ve stuck through it and my obsession for television grew stronger as I dedicated a new Tumblr to my love for entertainment: PrettyLittleGossipGleek. The name was fitting for me as it was three shows on air that I absolutely loved that made me feel more like me. I started to make gifs and fanart of my favorite moments, something I enjoyed doing and something that kept my mind off of reality. One time TvGuide used one of my gifs, #ganstAtoby, and to this day, I’m very proud of it. HAHA

tumblr_mhf842acls1qenwoao1_r1_500

Pretty Little Liars always had me at the edge of my seat with all the cliffhangers and kept my mind going, thinking of all the possible outcomes to the question,”Who is A?” I think that anything that gives you several mind f**ks is worth watching.

I watch a lot of television, and very rarely do I dream about them. Pretty Little Liars was an exception. I dreamt about running away from “A”, so obviously the show managed to sneak it’s way into my sub conscience.

But enough about me..

To the endgame couples —

Ezria: For a long time you were my favorite #PLL couple. The chemistry was unreal. I’ll never forget the first time Aria and Ezra met and the look of shock a few days later in Mr. Fitz’ English class. You were a forbidden love, like Romeo and Juliet, sneaking behind everyone’s back. It was starting to get toxic because you were holding each other back. And then the love story took a turn when Ezra was revealed to be stalking the girls for inspiration for a novel. True feelings were tested and you both entered intoseveral other relationship, but in the end you found your way back to each other. To all the haters, stop. It started off as a relationship based on lies, but the truth is that they make each other happy.

tumblr_lybjawzb5x1qenwoao4_r1_500

Spoby: Your relationship didn’t start from the beginning and I think that’s what drew me in to you. I’m not going to pretend that I didn’t love Alex for Spencer in the first season. I loved them and their somewhat forbidden love, but Alex left and the relationship with Toby came out of nowhere.  As I rewatched the first season, it’s clear that Spencer had strong negative feelings towards Toby. Toby was that creepy bad boy that hardly said a word, so it’s understandable. He was a suspect in the murder of Alison DiLaurentis for goodness sake. That didn’t go well with a lot of people, but Spencer, you sympathized with him and gave him a chance. Sure, you took a French tutoring job just to find answers about Alison, but I’m sure you didn’t expect to fall in love with Toby. I’m sure you didn’t expect to even like or understand him. A part of me thanks Emily for somewhat bringing you two together. When your relationship was threatened by “A”, you kind of gave up easily. You both tried to protect each other, doing things that broke the trust you built. Eventually you grew up and realized maybe you weren’t meant to be in each other’s future as a significant other. Your break up was by far the worst. It broke my heart the most, especially with the possibility that you weren’t endgame. But fate has a funny way of working and in the end, you two still shared a love for each other. That’s all that matters. In my head you make it. You were #RelationshipGoals.

tumblr_lnkwn5itmn1qenwoao1_1280

Emison: You made it from beginning to end, but not without the ups and downs and occasional mind games. Emily was always so sure of her feelings for Alison. The latter not so much. Honestly, I was never really a fan of any of Emily’s girlfriends (well maybe Samara because I love Claire Holt). I always thought that Alison would one day return Emily’s feelings. But I admit, it was an unhealthy relationship. When they were young, Alison always led Emily on. She gave her hope that wasn’t really there. I mean, Alison always had Emily wrapped around her finger and Emily constantly forgave the girl. But that’s the thing about Emily, she sees the best in people and gives them [constant] chances even if they do her wrong. Although the pregnancy was pretty messed up, I’m happy that it brought the two of you together along with two cute Emison babies. Along with some instigating from Paige, it helped Alison realize her feelings for her best friend. That proposal was the cutest thing because come on…I think we all thought Emily would’ve been the one to propose. AND how cute was it that Pam gave Alison her blessing? I guess you could say you’re soulmates.

Haleb: I remember when you two first met. You were practically bickering like an old married couple and to this day you still do. Only difference is that you’re actually married now! You know what they say, opposites attract. Your relationship basically started on a lie though, with Caleb acting as Jenna’s spy. But just like Spoby, falling in love probably wasn’t part of the plan. When Caleb ran away to Ravenswood, I wasn’t sure if he’d be back (I liked Ravenswood and thought maybe it would go on longer). You were on and off and like the others, you grew up. Life got in the way. Your different lifestyles got in the way. For a short time I liked Spaleb. It was a random relationship and it caused a strain on other relationships. But the thing about Caleb is that he’s loyal and will do everything in his power to protect the people he loves and I love him for that. I love him for loving and protecting Hanna. It took me a while, but watching season 7, I finally appreciated the relationship that is Haleb. Also, I always think about how both of them were on Days of Our Lives, at different times.

To my favorite guy, Ezra Fitz: You will always be my favorite English teacher. You were straight out of college, nerdy and adorable AF. You played the girls for a little and I was Aria when the truth was revealed. But I forgave you. How can I not? I feel like you’re the one guy who had the most secrets. Maybe it’s the mystery that is Ezra Fitzgerald that captivated me because even though the series has ended, I still feel like you’re hiding something. On a side note, I miss your brother Wesley.

tumblr_n1860vrcao1qenwoao1_500

To my favorite villain, Mona Vanderwaal: I love you, I really do. I could never really hate you. Even though you were the first “A” to start the game, I still couldn’t dislike you. You’re intelligent. You think outside the box. You’re prepared and detail oriented. Jealousy seeped through your blood and you wanted to be accepted. You just wanted to be loved. You went too far, but somehow you still managed to wiggle your way back inside, even though the others hardly trusted you. I trusted you many times because I didn’t know what else to think about you. I trusted you because I know you wanted to protect your “friends”. Ultimately, someone stole the game from you and you were determined to win. Your passion and drive is probably what I admire the most. In the end, I couldn’t decipher whose side you were on, but you won and got your happy ending. You’re no longer Loser Mona. You were never a loser though, just misunderstood.

To my favorite character, Hanna Marin: I see myself in you the most. Your back story hit me hardest. To this day, I still have low self esteem when it comes to my body image. But I’d like to think I’m good at faking it. You came from a broken family and you faked it til you made it. You wanted this sense of love and acceptance and it took a while for you to feel that. But you learned to love yourself and you learned to say what you feel. There were so many layers to you and I’m glad we were able to see them unravel over the seasons. You may not have been book smart, but you were street smart. You made me laugh many times. But you were also the source of my tears as I watched PLL. I never liked to see you being tortured or hurt. It broke my heart every time because you didn’t deserve any of it. The thing I admire most about you is your loyalty to your friends, no matter how many times you got hurt. Also, I wish I had your passion for fashion and all your OOTDs. 🙂

To my favorite actress, Ashley BensonBENZOooO. You’ve been my favorite forever. I mean, you were practically the reason why I started watching PLL. From being Abby Deveraux on DOOL to Carson on Bring It On: In It to Win It, I followed you on to your biggest project yet. We’re the same age, so in a weird sense I feel like we grew up together and a part of me wishes I was part of your #SQUAD. I was able to meet you once and it remains one of my favorite moments ever in my almost 28 years of existence. You were the sweetest person ever and i’m not just saying this because I love you. I absolutely adore your sense of humor, your style, your personality and the way you love and support your family/friends, Olive, and Walter. I absolutely adore YOU. Thank you for being my inspiration to do the things I love. Thank you for playing a character I absolutely love and connect with. Thank you for doing that epic dance scene in Season 5. And thank you for just being you and allowing us fans into your world. I love you!

To A.D, you’re awful. What kind of person wants to get rid of their twin sister so they can live in their shoes? All the awards to Troian Bellisario for bringing not just one great character, but two. Sure, Spencer and Alex looked alike, but they were so different and you were able to portray that to us viewers. The only similar thing I see between the two, is the yearning to be part of a family.

To the WHOLE cast, it’s been quite the 7 years, hasn’t it? You all practically grew up in the show, especially Sasha. To think she was only 13 when she shot the Pilot! Even I feel like i’ve grown up with you all. And then in Season 5 you started playing characters closer to your age and it felt even more relatable. Not that I have a stalker in my life, but just the fact that you were all in your twenties trying to figure out life. I lived vicariously through each and every one of you, through the drama and relationships. Thank you for bringing these characters to life and not giving up on your fans. Not only did people fall in love with your characters, but with you as actors. Even though things were so dramatic on cam, off camera you brought us some great BTS laughter and fun. It’s so great to see actors and actresses who have been on the show continue to do awesome projects. There’s a reason this show stuck around for so long and you all are why.

To the directors, writers, producers, and crew behind it all: First off, thank you Sara Shepard. Without you there would be no Pretty Little Liars. Your mind and creativity came up with this whole universe. You had these characters and constant mystery that captivated your audience. And I thank you for that. I hope one day I’ll get to reading all the books! Marlene King, thank you for bringing the books to screen. I’m pretty sure that this was one of the most popular book to tv adaptation. Thank you for taking that risk and bringing the whole team together to create the magic that is PLL. I can’t wait to see what else you have in store. And to the rest of the team behind PLL, thank you for the dedication and hard work you put behind the scenes to make sure the viewers got the best experience. From the set, the costume design, the score, the props…you all made PLL the iconic show that it is. Also, shout out to Lisa and Romy for putting up with Ashley and Shay all the time. 😛

It’s been two weeks since the show ended and I meant to post this a few days after, but I just never got to finish it until now. I think a part of me still doesn’t think Pretty Little Liars has ended. I mean, there’s so much that could happen after that finale. Alex and Mary Drake could escape Mona- I’m sure Detective Tanner is wondering where Mary Drake disappeared to and she’s a closer remember? I mean, I’m pretty excited to see the PLL reunion in the future.  It’s an iconic show and will be for many years to come. PLL’s impact in popular culture should not be underestimated.

I can’t wait to see and support each of the cast members in their next projects, but I’m sure nothing will ever replace the love I have for Pretty Little Liars.

To whole PLL fandom, thank you for your passion.

What show should I recap now?

xoxo,

Adele
