It’s over. – A (A farewell post to Pretty Little Liars)

Dear PLL fandom,

I had no idea what I was getting myself into seven years ago on June 8, 2010 when the Pilot episode of Pretty Little Liars aired. I hadn’t read the books and I definitely hadn’t watched anything religiously on ABC Family. There was Greek, but that was on and off and no other original show on the network was able to captivate me.

At the time, my favorite show Smallville announced its final season, Gossip Girl was in between the 3rd and 4th season and another favorite, Glee, was finishing its first season.  But let’s face it, I was turning 21 and still much into those teenage, coming of age shows. Plus, Ashley Benson was my favorite (and still is). And as a huge fan, I had to support my girl!

So then the day came, the Pilot began and I was hooked. It started with 4 young girls starting a new school year one year after the leader of their pack went missing. The episode introduced us to the characters we’ve loved for seven seasons.

We were first introduced to Aria Montgomery, the artsy girl who went through a little goth phase, returning to Rosewood after one year in Iceland with her family. During that year, she held on to one huge secret: her dad’s affair with his student. Things also get complicated when she hooked up with her future English teacher, Ezra Fitz. The eye contact the two share during the revelation was one of the most iconic scenes of the series.

Next came Emily Fields, the sweet girl on the swim team, with the popular jock boyfriend.  I’d like to think she was part of a conservative family, with her mom part of the neighborhood welcoming committee and her father in the army. Life gets a little complicated when she is constantly reminded of [her love for] Alison, while a new girl moves into Alison’s old house. Sexuality is questioned and in a small town like Rosewood, that’s unheard of.

Spencer Hastings then graced us with her presence. She was almost the epitome of overachiever. With the Hastings name, you’ve got to be especially with Melissa Hastings as an older sister. Spencer was the girl involved with everything, intelligent and outspoken. She was striving for good grades to get into an ivy league college and follow in the footsteps of her lawyer parents. But then she strayed away from the perfection, when Melissa’s boyfriends decided that she may be the better Hastings daughter.

And then there was Hanna Marin, formally known as “Hefty Hanna”, who transformed over one summer to become one of the most popular girls in school. She lived in the shadow of Alison DiLaurentis. Getting body shamed by her “close” friend, her confidence and self esteem was low. Her father leaving her and her mom didn’t help, either. So Hanna’s motto was practically, “new year, new me” and with her new popular girl title along with a trusty sidekick, Mona Vanderwaal, she was able to step out of Alison’s shadow. But the whole problem was maintaining her top spot and getting the attention she longed for. Hanna Marin will always be my favorite character.

What did those 4 girls have in common? Alison DiLaurentis, the girl who knew all of their secrets. However, she was the girl they knew nothing about. She was the glue to the group up until she disappeared, but that suddenly changed when “Alison’s body” was found and an anonymous stalker decides to start playing mind games with the girls. Alison’s “death” brings the girls back together and just like that the Pilot set the whole premise of the show.

For seven years, Pretty Little Liars ruled social media. They’re practically known to be the most social television show on air, with so much social media engagement from fans. It’s safe to say that it was the pioneer of trending topics when it came to TV shows and live tweeting along around the world. It allowed fans and those involved with the show to communicate with each other. Every Tuesday since it has aired, fans have been able to get PLL trending with hashtags like #PLL, #WhoIsA, #betrAyal, #WorldWarA, #Poor[Insert character name], etc. And of course the main hashtag for this season, #PLLEndGame, which tailored not only to the game, but obviously to the PLL relationships. #Ezria, #Spoby, #Haleb, & #Emison. I was only a year into Twitter by the time the show aired, and it definitely had me talking and more active on the web. The downside was all the spoilers. But I didn’t have an issue – I absolutely loved/love spoilers.

I think people have learned over the years, that if you don’t want to be spoiled, you better stay off social media until you watch the episodes. It’s so much more fun to live tweet. That’s why I ended up having a separate twitter just for that fact.

Since the Pilot, I’ve stuck through it and my obsession for television grew stronger as I dedicated a new Tumblr to my love for entertainment: PrettyLittleGossipGleek. The name was fitting for me as it was three shows on air that I absolutely loved that made me feel more like me. I started to make gifs and fanart of my favorite moments, something I enjoyed doing and something that kept my mind off of reality. One time TvGuide used one of my gifs, #ganstAtoby, and to this day, I’m very proud of it. HAHA

tumblr_mhf842acls1qenwoao1_r1_500

Pretty Little Liars always had me at the edge of my seat with all the cliffhangers and kept my mind going, thinking of all the possible outcomes to the question,”Who is A?” I think that anything that gives you several mind f**ks is worth watching.

I watch a lot of television, and very rarely do I dream about them. Pretty Little Liars was an exception. I dreamt about running away from “A”, so obviously the show managed to sneak it’s way into my sub conscience.

But enough about me..

To the endgame couples —

Ezria: For a long time you were my favorite #PLL couple. The chemistry was unreal. I’ll never forget the first time Aria and Ezra met and the look of shock a few days later in Mr. Fitz’ English class. You were a forbidden love, like Romeo and Juliet, sneaking behind everyone’s back. It was starting to get toxic because you were holding each other back. And then the love story took a turn when Ezra was revealed to be stalking the girls for inspiration for a novel. True feelings were tested and you both entered intoseveral other relationship, but in the end you found your way back to each other. To all the haters, stop. It started off as a relationship based on lies, but the truth is that they make each other happy.

tumblr_lybjawzb5x1qenwoao4_r1_500

Spoby: Your relationship didn’t start from the beginning and I think that’s what drew me in to you. I’m not going to pretend that I didn’t love Alex for Spencer in the first season. I loved them and their somewhat forbidden love, but Alex left and the relationship with Toby came out of nowhere.  As I rewatched the first season, it’s clear that Spencer had strong negative feelings towards Toby. Toby was that creepy bad boy that hardly said a word, so it’s understandable. He was a suspect in the murder of Alison DiLaurentis for goodness sake. That didn’t go well with a lot of people, but Spencer, you sympathized with him and gave him a chance. Sure, you took a French tutoring job just to find answers about Alison, but I’m sure you didn’t expect to fall in love with Toby. I’m sure you didn’t expect to even like or understand him. A part of me thanks Emily for somewhat bringing you two together. When your relationship was threatened by “A”, you kind of gave up easily. You both tried to protect each other, doing things that broke the trust you built. Eventually you grew up and realized maybe you weren’t meant to be in each other’s future as a significant other. Your break up was by far the worst. It broke my heart the most, especially with the possibility that you weren’t endgame. But fate has a funny way of working and in the end, you two still shared a love for each other. That’s all that matters. In my head you make it. You were #RelationshipGoals.

tumblr_lnkwn5itmn1qenwoao1_1280

Emison: You made it from beginning to end, but not without the ups and downs and occasional mind games. Emily was always so sure of her feelings for Alison. The latter not so much. Honestly, I was never really a fan of any of Emily’s girlfriends (well maybe Samara because I love Claire Holt). I always thought that Alison would one day return Emily’s feelings. But I admit, it was an unhealthy relationship. When they were young, Alison always led Emily on. She gave her hope that wasn’t really there. I mean, Alison always had Emily wrapped around her finger and Emily constantly forgave the girl. But that’s the thing about Emily, she sees the best in people and gives them [constant] chances even if they do her wrong. Although the pregnancy was pretty messed up, I’m happy that it brought the two of you together along with two cute Emison babies. Along with some instigating from Paige, it helped Alison realize her feelings for her best friend. That proposal was the cutest thing because come on…I think we all thought Emily would’ve been the one to propose. AND how cute was it that Pam gave Alison her blessing? I guess you could say you’re soulmates.

Haleb: I remember when you two first met. You were practically bickering like an old married couple and to this day you still do. Only difference is that you’re actually married now! You know what they say, opposites attract. Your relationship basically started on a lie though, with Caleb acting as Jenna’s spy. But just like Spoby, falling in love probably wasn’t part of the plan. When Caleb ran away to Ravenswood, I wasn’t sure if he’d be back (I liked Ravenswood and thought maybe it would go on longer). You were on and off and like the others, you grew up. Life got in the way. Your different lifestyles got in the way. For a short time I liked Spaleb. It was a random relationship and it caused a strain on other relationships. But the thing about Caleb is that he’s loyal and will do everything in his power to protect the people he loves and I love him for that. I love him for loving and protecting Hanna. It took me a while, but watching season 7, I finally appreciated the relationship that is Haleb. Also, I always think about how both of them were on Days of Our Lives, at different times.

To my favorite guy, Ezra Fitz: You will always be my favorite English teacher. You were straight out of college, nerdy and adorable AF. You played the girls for a little and I was Aria when the truth was revealed. But I forgave you. How can I not? I feel like you’re the one guy who had the most secrets. Maybe it’s the mystery that is Ezra Fitzgerald that captivated me because even though the series has ended, I still feel like you’re hiding something. On a side note, I miss your brother Wesley.

tumblr_n1860vrcao1qenwoao1_500

To my favorite villain, Mona Vanderwaal: I love you, I really do. I could never really hate you. Even though you were the first “A” to start the game, I still couldn’t dislike you. You’re intelligent. You think outside the box. You’re prepared and detail oriented. Jealousy seeped through your blood and you wanted to be accepted. You just wanted to be loved. You went too far, but somehow you still managed to wiggle your way back inside, even though the others hardly trusted you. I trusted you many times because I didn’t know what else to think about you. I trusted you because I know you wanted to protect your “friends”. Ultimately, someone stole the game from you and you were determined to win. Your passion and drive is probably what I admire the most. In the end, I couldn’t decipher whose side you were on, but you won and got your happy ending. You’re no longer Loser Mona. You were never a loser though, just misunderstood.

tumblr_m164pmgset1qenwoao1_500

To my favorite character, Hanna Marin: I see myself in you the most. Your back story hit me hardest. To this day, I still have low self esteem when it comes to my body image. But I’d like to think I’m good at faking it. You came from a broken family and you faked it til you made it. You wanted this sense of love and acceptance and it took a while for you to feel that. But you learned to love yourself and you learned to say what you feel. There were so many layers to you and I’m glad we were able to see them unravel over the seasons. You may not have been book smart, but you were street smart. You made me laugh many times. But you were also the source of my tears as I watched PLL. I never liked to see you being tortured or hurt. It broke my heart every time because you didn’t deserve any of it. The thing I admire most about you is your loyalty to your friends, no matter how many times you got hurt. Also, I wish I had your passion for fashion and all your OOTDs. 🙂

tumblr_osao8m2iat1qenwoao5_500

To my favorite actress, Ashley BensonBENZOooO. You’ve been my favorite forever. I mean, you were practically the reason why I started watching PLL. From being Abby Deveraux on DOOL to Carson on Bring It On: In It to Win It, I followed you on to your biggest project yet. We’re the same age, so in a weird sense I feel like we grew up together and a part of me wishes I was part of your #SQUAD. I was able to meet you once and it remains one of my favorite moments ever in my almost 28 years of existence. You were the sweetest person ever and i’m not just saying this because I love you. I absolutely adore your sense of humor, your style, your personality and the way you love and support your family/friends, Olive, and Walter. I absolutely adore YOU. Thank you for being my inspiration to do the things I love. Thank you for playing a character I absolutely love and connect with. Thank you for doing that epic dance scene in Season 5. And thank you for just being you and allowing us fans into your world. I love you!

To A.D, you’re awful. What kind of person wants to get rid of their twin sister so they can live in their shoes? All the awards to Troian Bellisario for bringing not just one great character, but two. Sure, Spencer and Alex looked alike, but they were so different and you were able to portray that to us viewers. The only similar thing I see between the two, is the yearning to be part of a family.

To the WHOLE cast, it’s been quite the 7 years, hasn’t it? You all practically grew up in the show, especially Sasha. To think she was only 13 when she shot the Pilot! Even I feel like i’ve grown up with you all. And then in Season 5 you started playing characters closer to your age and it felt even more relatable. Not that I have a stalker in my life, but just the fact that you were all in your twenties trying to figure out life. I lived vicariously through each and every one of you, through the drama and relationships. Thank you for bringing these characters to life and not giving up on your fans. Not only did people fall in love with your characters, but with you as actors. Even though things were so dramatic on cam, off camera you brought us some great BTS laughter and fun. It’s so great to see actors and actresses who have been on the show continue to do awesome projects. There’s a reason this show stuck around for so long and you all are why.

Untitled-4.jpg

To the directors, writers, producers, and crew behind it all: First off, thank you Sara Shepard. Without you there would be no Pretty Little Liars. Your mind and creativity came up with this whole universe. You had these characters and constant mystery that captivated your audience. And I thank you for that. I hope one day I’ll get to reading all the books! Marlene King, thank you for bringing the books to screen. I’m pretty sure that this was one of the most popular book to tv adaptation. Thank you for taking that risk and bringing the whole team together to create the magic that is PLL. I can’t wait to see what else you have in store. And to the rest of the team behind PLL, thank you for the dedication and hard work you put behind the scenes to make sure the viewers got the best experience. From the set, the costume design, the score, the props…you all made PLL the iconic show that it is. Also, shout out to Lisa and Romy for putting up with Ashley and Shay all the time. 😛

It’s been two weeks since the show ended and I meant to post this a few days after, but I just never got to finish it until now. I think a part of me still doesn’t think Pretty Little Liars has ended. I mean, there’s so much that could happen after that finale. Alex and Mary Drake could escape Mona- I’m sure Detective Tanner is wondering where Mary Drake disappeared to and she’s a closer remember? I mean, I’m pretty excited to see the PLL reunion in the future.  It’s an iconic show and will be for many years to come. PLL’s impact in popular culture should not be underestimated.

I can’t wait to see and support each of the cast members in their next projects, but I’m sure nothing will ever replace the love I have for Pretty Little Liars.

To whole PLL fandom, thank you for your passion.

What show should I recap now?

xoxo,

Adele

Til deAth do us pArt. (PLL Series Finale Recap)

It’s over, it’s finally over. This is it. My last PLL recap and it’s so bittersweet.

The episode begins with a fantasy. We’re taken in Mona’s head where the girls talk about missing A.D. “Without fear, there cannot be courage,” dream Spencer reminisces and it’s definitely a true statement. But her daydream is quickly interrupted when a mystery person decides to visit her at the hospital.

One year later…everyone seems like they are finally happy and A.D. free. But the game is not over.

As I started writing this recap, it started to get super long considering we had a 2 hour finale! So with a change of heart, I’ve decided to do Top 5 moments.

5 Our couples get a happy ending. This isn’t really one moment, but it’s how each of the end game couples ended up together.

The first couple we see after the time jump is Ezria. They are at the Warner Bros lot with Ezra and Aria. It kind of seems like they’re going the route The Hills took, where they reveal they are on a set implying it was all fake. I would have died if that happened. But nope, it just turns out that their book is being adapted into film. Rainer and Paige should star! Kudos if you get the reference.

The majority of the episode revolves around the Ezria wedding. Aria gets cold feet because she learns that she won’t be able to have a child, but Ezra’s there for her every step of the way. On their actual wedding day, Ezra’s a no show, but not on his own will. But in the end, they make it together.

Emison had twins, Lily and Grace! Alison seems to be on edge sneaking around, but she’s just meeting with Emily’s mom. We don’t get much from their first meeting, but obviously it’s about Emison’s future and Pam seems to give Ali her blessing. Usually we see Emily reassuring Alison, but this episode was very much about Alison and her love for Emily.

Later in the episode, Emily is angry at Alison for hiding a secret, but it turns out Alison was planning a proposal. Alison didn’t plan for it to happen due to an argument, but it gave the Emison fans lots of feels with the pug sweatshirt.

We then have Haleb, the recently married couple. In the last episode, we saw the two tie the knot in a small ceremony. It’s not the wedding anyone really pictured for Hanna, and this episode it seems to be what’s on Hanna’s mind as well. But that’s only because the two are not on the same page when it comes to Mona.

While Hanna has a baby on her mind, Caleb has Mona living in their loft on his mind and they are not happy thoughts. Spencer also happened to interfere, when she calls out the tension to Hanna. Later on, things get better and Hanna gets exactly what she wishes for, a baby.

Then comes Spoby. Toby finds his way back to Rosewood and immediately connects with Spencer. While everyone is off doing couple things, in an ode to past Spoby moments, they play Scrabble. Spencer wins of course, with the word “limerance” alluding to some kind of unrequited love. Toby loves you, don’t you ever doubt that Spencer.

Without saying too much, there is some unrequited love with Toby. But Toby knows the real Spencer and chooses her.

4 Addison is a brat. I literally cannot with her. We saw her in one episode and then she comes back like she owns the high school. She’s the current bully and it makes me wonder how effed up her family tree must be. I absolutely despise people who disrespect their teachers. Addison knows and cares too much about Alison and her friends. Also, the fact that Jenna also dislikes her says a lot. “I may not be able to see, but I can smell a bitch from a mile away,” such a burn.

The girls constantly ask Addison’s “friends” if she’s bullying them and you can just see the fear in their eyes. In the final scenes, history repeats itself when Addison goes missing. I didn’t even dislike Alison this much.

3 Mona is a minion again. Just when we all thought Mona was going to get the help she needed, once she was released, A.D. reeled her back in again. She causes a rift between Hanna and Caleb, when Hanna is just trying to be a good friend. As Mona’s former best friend, who happened to bring her back to gaming, Hanna feels a responsibility to take care of Mona. She practically forgives her for everything. But you should never trust a pretty girl with an ugly secret.

In a mask disguised as Melissa, Mona spies on the girls and their significant others. She attempts to gain A.D.’s trust by spying on their every move and even knocks Spencer out, just like she did in the season 2 finale, “UnmAsked”. No matter how much intel Mona gets, A.D. is still very hesitant to reveal their identity. Later on, Mona beats A.D. at their own game. It’s interesting because later on we see who’s side she was really on.

2 A.D. is finally revealed. A little after the first hour, A.D. is finally revealed after they get Mona to ambush Spencer. Spencer wakes up in a room thinking she’s looking into a mirror, but it’s actually her twin, Alex Drake. Turns out Mary Drake had a second baby that no one knew about. The doctor put Alex up for adoption and promised not to say a word for money. Alex then grew up in London, but it was not the environment she or Mary Drake had hoped for. She never felt the love she yearned for.

That is until she met Wren, who mistakes her for Spencer. They fall in love and clearly Wren has a type. Blinded by love, Wren tells Alex everything, and she’s intrigued by Spencer’s life and Cece’s game for the girls and continuing the legacy. Turns out that Hanna’s dream of Spencer, was actually Alex.

Her love for Cece  and avenging her death spurred her on to keep the game going. She made sure to put on the best show of her life, asking Wren to shoot her, just to match Spencer’s shot wound from Jenna.

At Aria’s wedding, Alex whispers under her breath and reveals that Wren is the baby daddy. The sad thing is that Wren didn’t get the chance to meet the babies as it’s implied that Alex killed him. Why kill the man that loves you and is willing to sacrifice everything for the guy who doesn’t even know you exist and is actually in love with your twin sister?!

Alex even helps Mary Drake escape so they can all be one big happy family, at least in Alex’s little made up world. So not only does she have Spencer, she has Mary Drake and even decides to kidnap Ezra because he was seen as a threat.

However, her plans are squashed when Jenna has a little encounter with her outside the Hastings’ law firm, posing as Spencer. Jenna can smell a bitch from a mile a way, and this bitch smelled like A.D. She calls Toby and he realizes he slept with the wrong twin. The signs are there when Spencer’s horse, Bashful, isn’t so sweet with Alex and the book he received from “Spencer” is not the same book he’s seen the real Spencer with.

Mona knows the scooby gang is on to Alex and it looks like she calls A.D. for help. But it’s all for show as she betrays Alex. She reveals her true plans to the scooby gang and they are able to ambush the house Toby built, finding the upgraded doll house. As the twins fight to the death, they enter and Toby pulls out his gone. He ultimately has to choose and he chooses correctly when Alex answers a question incorrectly. Alex’s final words as a copy takes her away: “Well, no one can call you ‘loser Mona’ anymore.” And just like that Mona ultimately won.

1 Which then takes us to the final scenes. The Ezria wedding finally happens, in the Rosewood Church. They say their vows and I’m on the verge of crying. But when the priest calls out if anyone objects, a phone rings and I almost have a heart attack. The whole audience does because after 7 years, a ringtone has caused a lot of trauma. Luckily, the videographer, played by Marlene King, just forgot to silence her phone. I love that after all the drama, they kept it light and funny.

After the wedding came the honeymoon talk and goodbyes. This was the last scene the girls filmed and my heart had so many feels to see all of them happy. Aria is only leaving for 3 weeks, and WE ARE ALL EMOTIONAL WRECKS. Alison hits it right on the spot when she says, “For some reason, this feels like it’s the end of something.”

On the other side of the world, Mona gets her happy ending with a new boy toy, whom I believe was the cop that took Alex away. She works at a doll shop, but the big toys are in the back when it’s revealed that she has Mary Drake and Alex held hostage during tea time. Mona is the best. That is all.

The FINAL scene takes us back to the pilot with a group of girls at a sleepover. They wake up to find that Addison is missing and history is about to repeat itself.

A part of me is really pissed about the big A.D. reveal. Spencer has a twin and we’re all supposed to believe that absolutely no one knew about her. But I guess they are all good at keeping secrets anyways. But I still enjoyed the execution and the way they made it work. The finale was an ode to the fans that have been there since the Pilot and I’m happy to have been part of the PLL army.

I’m happy because my little liars are finally happy. #GameOver

Anyways, stay tuned for my farewell post to PLL in the next few days. It’s been a long ride, but we’ve finally reached the destination.

xoxo,

The Girls are forced to “Choose or Lose”! (7×18 PLL Recap)

Hey little liars! We’re nearing the end and tonight’s episode finally revealed some truth.

The episode starts off with Emison sharing a sweet moment that’s later interuppted by the police who happen to have a search warrant handy. However, the DiLaurentis home isn’t the only place being raided. They hit Spencer first and headed over to Hanna’s before making their way to Aria’s. While Ezra is caught off guard, Aria makes sure she shreds the prize she received last week. Also, among the craziness A.D.’s game goes missing.

An angry Spencer barges into the Rosewood Police Station demanding to see Detective Furey; She’s “FUREY”ious. But she’s placed face to face with Detective Tanner. Furey pulled himself out of the case, which is definitely a good idea since it’s a conflict of interest and we all know what happened to the others.”I always thought you were guilty of something…”, Tanner says and we all know Tanner won’t stop till she gets answers.

In the police search all phones were confiscated, but A.D. was smart enough to leave something behind for his latest team player, Aria. Aria demands to meet A.D. and they hesitantly oblige.

But A.D. doesn’t forget about the other girls who are waiting to hear from Aria. A.D. provides some great room service at the Radley Hotel and instead of food, they leave another cell phone to continue the game. It seems to be the last turn and it’s for all of them. “Choose or Lose”: they have to choose between turning one person in or everyone loses the game and goes to jail. Mona decides to crash the party with perfect timing, “If you want an explanation, you might want to ask Aria,” Mona interjects and she has proof!

Toby has returned and runs into Spencer. He was called back to be questioned by Detective Tanner. Toby warns Spencer that Tanner is building a solid case against her and the others.

Aria meets A.D. at the park, only to receive texts indicating that A.D. is watching her. Aria runs off when she hears a noise and is caught black-hoodied (red-handed) by the girls! Aria does not deny her involvement with A.D and as expected, the others are not happy with their so-called friend. Detective Tanner interrupts the heated confrontation by calling the girls to the station regarding all the evidence the police has against them. She offers them an out to hear their side of the story, but no one budges.

“I don’t like sloppiness on my team,” says to Aria as she calls A.D. to exclaim that’s she’s out. Aria’s been sloppy the whole time, I’m surprised A.D. didn’t get rid of her sooner. Either way, A.D. doesn’t grant Aria’s request and tells her to wait til tomorrow for a new revelation.

Spencer visits Aria for answers. Aria pleads with Spencer that she’ll do anything to fix it all and Spencer just wants her to stop. However, their conversation is interrupted when Tanner barges in with all of Aria’s belonging claiming she’s off the suspect list for the murder. Apparently, there is proof that Aria was 300 miles away on the night of Archer’s murder. It’s unbelievable and Spencer believes so too as she leaves unhappy.

Amongst the madness that A.D. and the murder investigation has brought on, the girls decide to spend time with their loved ones before everything hits the fan.

Aria decides to tell Ezra everything. It turns out he knew about the report that Aria was going to file. He forgives Aria, but a part of me feels like he knows a lot more about other things. Either way, all seems to be forgiven and Aria gets Ezra’s support and love.

Caleb decides now is the best time to get married and with Ashley’s blessing, Haleb has a civil wedding. Caleb will do anything to protect Hanna, and I love him for that.

Alison decides to take Emily out on a date. They decide to have a little picnic in the woods that leads to more. Like Hanna mentioned earlier in the episode, it’s about time!

Spencer accepts Toby’s invitation to come to his cabin. She shows up on his doorstep and ;let’s it all out. It warms my heart that Toby is always there for Spencer no matter what.

One day I hope to find someone to share love with like Haleb, Spoby, Ezria, and Emison. But I digress.

Later on they all choose to meet sans Aria. Time is almost up and they make a pact that no one is to blame for whatever happens next. A.D. starts the countdown and it’s finally time for them to choose or lose. Their choice? Spencer decides to destroy the cell phone. It’s all or nothing!

Back at Ezra’s, Aria decides she’s done again. She thinks she has a choice and intends to  turn herself in. But A.D. says she’s too late and Aria wins the grand prize, unlimited freedom. With that, the phone blows up. Aria leaves and tries to get a hold of Spencer, but the call ends and her car stops. Aria gets a little surprise in the trunk, a corpse.

The final scene brings us to Ezra and Caleb on their search for the game board. The sensors lead to Mona’s apartment and we see her admiring the game as the jail slowly pops up.

Two more episodes to go and I’m not prepared. I won’t make any serious guesses about A.D. because I don’t want to have high expectations. It happened with Gossip Girl and I was left angry. I won’t allow myself to feel this way towards Pretty Little Liars.

A.D. has the upperhand with today’s power play!

Hi all! Tonight’s episode was by far my favorite so far of Season 7B. A few questions were answered and we found out who among the 5 is the weakest link. Honestly, I’m shook right now. Yes, I used the term “shook”. Don’t mind me.

Because this episode was pretty intense and the fact that there were so many things to keep track of, I figured I’d change up the format of this post with the Top 5 moments of the episode.

5. WHOSE FINGER WAS DELIVERED TO THE ROSEWOOD POLICE?

It wasn’t hard to figure it out considering the girls just buried the body in 7A, but the digit belonged to Mr. Archer Dunhill’s decomposing body. Detective Furey decided to stop by the school to break this news to Alison and let’s just say, it’s not a missing person’s case any longer.  A.D. knows exactly what they are doing with this game. Play the game and get away with murder. Don’t play the game and the incriminating video comes out.

4. A FEW FAMILIAR FACES RETURNED.

Mr. Hastings is the first to return this episode. After claiming to be held up, Spencer finds out he’s been in Rosewood all along and has been on a search to find Mary Drake. He hired a private investigator to find the estranged mother and since Mr. Hastings hasn’t really been following the leads, Spencer and Hanna secretly go behind his back only to find another familiar face. Later on in the episode, he reveals who killed Jessica DiLaurentis.

Pastor Ted is the other familiar face that graced our screen tonight. One of the P.I.’s leads brings Spencer and Hanna to his home. He plays it cool as Hanna and Spencer think they wrote down the wrong address, but as they walk away Mary Drake enters the picture. He later confesses to Hanna that he’s been helping Mary Drake hide. Apparently, Mary Drake and Pastor Ted had a thing during their college days. And guess what? He’s Charles’/Charlotte’s father! But he didn’t know at the time he was a counselor for a boy’s camp where Charles AND Lucas were besties. Yup, mind is blown. Lucas is in on this game. Right?

3. WHO KILLED JESSICA DILAURENTIS?

I won’t beat around the bush. It was Mary Drake, at least according to Mr. Hastings. He recalls the last time he saw Mary. Spencer just got back from rehab and Mary Drake paid a little visit to her daughter. When Mr. Hastings caught her that night, Mary Drake was on a mission to make her twin sister pay for all the lies regarding Charles/Charlotte. When Peter refused to help, Mary decided to frame him utilizing his own pills.

At this point, I believe it, but at the same time Mr. Hastings could be lying just to paint Mary Drake in a bad light.

2. IT’S ALI’S TURN AND A.D. THINKS THEY CAN PLAY GOD.

Honestly, this ties with the top moment of the episode. A.D. decided to move the game board from Spencer’s to Alison’s. At this point, Alison has decided that she will not keep the baby. Emily supports the decision, but is later put into quite the predicament. For Alison’s turn, A.D. decides it’s time to get ready for the baby shower and leads Alison to a baby store to set up a baby registry. A clerk at the store then gives the gift Alison “reserved” for the egg donor…Emily. Yup, Alison is carrying Emily’s baby. And yup, the game just became a bit more complicated.  I’m left here thinking that A.D. is going way too far with this. As Alison tells Emily the new revelation, the scene breaks my heart.

This all comes out when Paige decides she wants to stay in Rosewood and try again with Emily. And I still think Paige is sketchy AF. I mean, she finds out that Alison is pregnant then all of a sudden turns down a big job to stay with Emily? Nah.

1. ARIA PROVES TO BE WEAK AF.

This isn’t really a moment per se. It’s more of an observation and it left me pretty angry. With all the Ezria drama, Aria hasn’t really been invested in the whole A.D. drama. As she sits on the sidelines during Ali’s turn, A.D. decides to video chat with her. Aria doesn’t want anything to do with it and ends up throwing her game piece away. A.D. takes this as a sign and plays on Aria’s vulnerability and curiousity. A.D. smells the desperation especially when it comes to Ezra possibly leaving Aria.

It is revealed that Sydney is A.D…just kidding! Syndey tried to fool Aria with a black hoodie, but the earpiece didn’t get past Aria. She is just another pawn to test Aria. A.D. wants to know if Aria wants to play for the winning team and she doesn’t straight up deny it. When she’s late to show up to the the girls’ meeting, she hides the fact that she met with Sydney as Hanna is chosen to take her turn again. And i’m pissed. Her best friends are getting tortured as she plays as a spy? How about no?

And there you have it. I tried my best to put all my thoughts together, but again, I’m still shook.

A.D. knows exactly what their doing putting the girls against each other. A moment of weakness could ruin it all for the girls. “We cannot let this game rip us apart, no matter what.” EVERYONE, listen to Spencer!

What are your thoughts on tonight’s episode?

It’s Playtime on Pretty Little Liars! (Spring premiere recap)

If you’re a PLL fan like me, you’ve been waiting for this premiere since August 30, 2016 where we were left with questions and accidents galore all around. But if you are also like me, you are dreading the fact that this is the first of the final ten episodes of Pretty Little Liars. How will we spend our Tuesday nights after June 20, 2017?

The episode starts off right where we left off. After being shot by Jenna, Spencer is rushed to the hospital. It was quite ironic when the paramedic asked Spencer what her mother’s name was. I mean, Mary Drake spilled a huge bombshell – with that and the overall shock of being shot, it was definitely not an easy question for Spencer to answer. As the girls watch on, they discover that Toby was in an accident too.

And then we fast forward one week later. Toby isn’t dead! Keegan Allen did a lot of trolling after that last episode making everyone think that Toby was gone. I even cried. What a jerk (lol jk). While both Toby and Spencer made it out alive, Yvonne is stuck in a coma and as a reminder Noel Kahn won’t be coming back at all.

We get little glimpses of each of the girls and their relationship woes. While i’m ready to see which pairs will be endgame, i’m more concerned about the game A.D. wants to play because the girls soon figure out that Noel and Jenna are not who they are looking for.

A.D. sent Spencer a little get well present and gave her the task of gathering the others to have a little game night. A.D. actully came up with quite the elaborate game board – a replica of the little town of Rosewood. I wouldn’t want to play, but I would want to own it. They seem to agree they don’t have time to play games and most of them attempt to go back to a normal life. Yeah, like that would ever happen.

Spencer, however gets a little push to keep finding out who A.D. is. Detective Furey shows her some evidence that pretty much reveals there were two shooters that awful night she was shot. In addition to that news, Mrs. Hastings comes home and doesn’t deny Mary Drake’s confession. The scene between Veronica and Spencer was a bit heartbreaking and everything Spencer thought she knew was shattered.

After a little text from A.D. and a little curiousity, Spencer is the first to start playing. It begins with a game of “Truth or Dare” and she’s a little daredevil. The game seems to start out easy because Spencer’s dared to visit a certain ex-boyfriend. Her prize? A puzzle piece and a letter written by Mary Drake when she was a baby.

The rest of the girls aren’t too happy with Spencer playing without them. Hanna even wants to destroy the game, but A.D. is watching and starts playing the video of them burying Elliot. And that’s enough for them to keep playing. Winner takes all..

The final scene leaves us with Jenna who was kidnapped by A.D. A.D. drops some papers on her lap and Jenna smiles as she reads about the endgame A.D. has for the pretty little liars.

Other noteworthy things :

  • Ezra’s home and hasn’t told Nicole about Aria, which causes Aria to worry about their pending wedding
  • Alison still holds a grudge against Paige. Is it jealousy involving Emily?
  • Paige is still shady AF.
  • Holden’s back and he’s involved in Ezria’s wedding planning. #awkward
  • Mona and Hanna are still #FriendshipGoals…sometimes.
  • I think it’s safe to say that Haleb is endgame ❤

My question is, who’s turn is it next? And what kind of truth (or dares) will we see? I’m waiting for someone to say “Do Not Pass Go…”

A new web of lies is spun tonight on #PrettyLittleLiars!

Hi little liars! Last week we got our first dose of PLL #5YearsForward and tonight on “Charlotte’s Web” it continued with some new faces and old games.

At the funeral, Detective Lorenzo recommended Hanna, Emily, Spencer and Aria stay. While the first three were willing to stay “home” for a few more days, Aria was very eager to leave. And she did. She was extremely sketchy especially after Hanna called her out for leaving the hotel the night Charlotte was murdered.

As you may already know, Rosewood is a small town so the list of suspects in Charlotte’s case is pretty short. One thing we find out from Detective Lorenzo is that Sara Harvey is off the suspect list because of her hands being severely burned. Just like Alison, I was quite angry at this because Sara cannot be trusted. But after what’s happened in the past, it’s quite easy to point the finger at our favorite group of liars.

Before Aria, leaves she visits Ezra and basically threatens him. “We didn’t see each other the night Charlotte was killed…” Normally, I don’t think Aria is too sketchy, but tonight she was  obviously hiding something, especially considering how fast she left home.

Ali starts to suspect something about Aria after Mr. Montgomery tells her that Aria left a day earlier than planned. And the look on Hanna and Spencer’s faces don’t help. However, at this point Spencer isn’t worried about Aria’s sudden disappearance. After reading the report of Charlotte’s murder, it sounds vaguely familiar to her. Apparently back in college, she wrote a paper about a murder in the 1970’s where a woman was killed the same way Charlotte was.

Over and awkward dinner, Ali makes sure the girls know that she suspects they’re hiding something from her. Again, the looks on their faces don’t help the situation. Hanna tells Spencer what she knows about Aria and they do a little more digging, finding the security footage. Charlotte was killed around 4 a.m. and Aria left the hotel around 3:30 and didn’t come back until after that time. But that’s not the only thing they found. Ezra was with her.aligrace

Aria makes her way back to Rosewood to make sure Ezra is starting his 2nd book, but she seems to have ulterior motives. While all this time we’ve been suspecting Aria, it seems like we should be suspecting Ezra. She asks Ezra where he went after she left him and he simply says he went home. But boy does he look very suspicious. He didn’t look Aria in the eyes.ezra4

The girls visit Aria for an intervention and she recalls everything that happened that night including being with Ezra and seeing Charlotte at the church. Spencer brings up her paper and Ezra’s connection to it. Now Ezra’s at the top of their suspect list. Hanna points out that Aria would look suspicious if the video ever got out and Aria agrees basically asking her friend to get rid of the video. The girls will always stick together. They will always lie together.

But the lies are not going to get them anywhere, especially since Alison now suspects that her friends might have something to do with the murder of her sister.

Lastly, Sara Harvey needs to stop lurking around and smirking at everyone.

Other notable moments:

  • Spencer and Caleb recall their favorite night in Madrid. Something is definitely going on between these two.
  • Hanna’s fiance, Jordan, is cute but that dinner with Caleb and the others was awkward.
  • Aria’s new boyfriend is an adorable brunette coworker. She definitely has a type.
  • Emily is hiding something from her family and friends — she’s been going to the doctor, but for what?

And that’s what you missed on PLL! What was your favorite moments?

A

A PLL Recap: The verdict is in!!!

Hey little liars! To be honest, I’m pretty emotional right now. I’m angry, I’m sad and I’m just in plain disbelief. I mean, sure, we all knew this was coming, but to hear it and see what happened in the last 2 minutes of the episode was just overwhelming. If this is how I’m feeling now, I can imagine how I will be next week when the “big reveAl” happens.

Anyways, enough of me ranting…here are my top 5 moments of tonight’s episode of Pretty Little Liars, “I’m a Good Girl, I am.”

Capture5. Lesli Stone returns to Rosewood as a surprise witness. In case you need a refresher, Lesli made her first appearance in 5×18, claiming to be Mona’s friend from out of town. She reveals to the girls that she talked to Mona the night before she died and heard a male voice yelling at Mona, which we found out later was Mike. Let’s just say, Mike and Lesli didn’t have a good impression on each other. During, the trial Lesli brings a piece of evidence, a little card mentioning Alison’s threats. It doesn’t make anything better for Alison. Lesli then proceeds to throw Hanna, Mike and the girls under the bus, stating that they were all hiding something. She claims that Hanna was stalking her and Mike “practically attacked” her, which is sort of true, but still, this girl came out of nowhere. Either this was all part of Mona’s grand scheme or Lesli is working for “A”.

4. Alison takes the stand. The whole episode, Spencer, Emily and Aria are working to find someone that can be Ali’s alibi. We flashback to Thanksgiving where Ali is at the park waiting for Cyrus. She doesn’t see anyone, but she does hear someone. Due to some amazing detective skills, Emily and Spencer find this person by seeing a certain scarf/patch. However, the girl who was at the park doesn’t get them anywhere as she was recovering from partying too hard the night before. This dead end causes Alison’s lawyer to use their own surprise witness…Alison. Capture

Ali’s lawyer brings up the point that Alison fractured her elbow when she was little and it never healed. What does that have to do with Mona’s death? The force used to push her around. I thought this was making a good case until the prosecution dug up some old archery award. Alison says nothing about it. After the jury goes into deliberation, Alison reveals that she convinced her bunkmate to help her rig that archery competition. It looks like she didn’t want to open up a can of worms mentioning her old bunkmate, whoever it was.

3. Ezra vs. Caleb over Mike. Honestly, I was getting pretty frustrated with Aria. I understand she wants to protect her brother in all of this, but I think Mike was looking at the bigger picture when he wanted to confess everything he knew if he was called to the stand. As Aria enlisted Ezra’s help to take Mike away from all the madness, Caleb wanted Mike to tell his side of the story. Ezra and Caleb got in a pretty heated argument about what Mike should do, but during all their bickering, Mike drove off. He didn’t get too far as he was attacked by a pretty skilled archer, knocked unconscious and tied around a tetherball pole.Capture

Ezra and Caleb were successful in getting past the mysterious archer(s), and rushed Mike over to the Rosewood police, but not before taking a photo of his binding situation. And while I thought that this proof and Mike’s state would be some good evidence, apparently it wasn’t, according to Detective Tanner. To me, she basically implied that the whole attack on Mike was staged to try to get the girls off the hook. Detective Tanner is either working for “A” or the whole Rosewood Police Department is in denial. If Aria allowed Mike to tell the truth, I think the whole thing could have been avoided or at least put off for a little longer.Capture

2. Andrew reaches another level of creepiness. Andrew gets very defensive when he hears that Aria recruited Ezra for help regarding Mike. He’s gotten to be a stage 5 clinger and obviously he’s jealous of Ezria’s relationship. He keeps repeating his “I’m here for you 24/7” spiel to Aria, but the one time she calls him for help in looking after Mike, he’s not available. And it happens to be when Mike goes missing. Later on during the trial, he meets Aria to apologize. Somehow a yearbook quote is worked in the mix and Aria finds out that Andrew was a Pathfinder Scout for 12 years. Um…Ezra, Caleb and Mike were attacked at the Pathfinder Scout camp the night before. “A” is for Archer Andrew.

alisverdict51. #AlisVerdict & the arrest. Remember when I was ranting earlier? Well, this is why. Again, I think the majority of us knew the jury would find Alison guilty, but to hear it and to see it was heartbreaking. Sure, Ali’s done some unforgivable things to a number of people, but for her to go to jail for a murder she didn’t commit had me feeling all kinds of emotions. The evidence and testimonies didn’t help Alison at allOne thing that made me angry was the reactions from people behind the girls who were in distraught seeing their innocent friend get a verdict, landing her life in prison. Everyone behind Emily, Spencer and Aria were all smiling. I was sitting here playing the scene back, thinking, “YOU ALL DON’T KNOW WHAT’S REALLY HAPPENING HERE, SO STOP SMILING.” Maybe if Mike actually testified, it would’ve changed something. But “A” is always one step ahead.alisverdict6

Anyways, after Alison’s heartbreaking verdict, Tanner finally made an appearance at the trial to gloat and to arrest the remaining “liars”. Officer Toby was too late to save them and Tanner had all the evidence she needed to land them in jail with Alison and Hanna. I also dislike the fact that she was conveniently there to arrest them right after Alison’s verdict.

Since all of them are in jail now, I wonder how their dynamic will change and what games “A” has up their sleeve. I guess we’ll find out next week along with who “A” is.

Theory of the week: As I was writing the bit about Andrew earlier, I came up with a theory. Apparently, there have been talks about there being a twin in the mix, that’s not Alison’s. In case you missed it earlier, Alison’s past came up about camp when she was 11 and her convincing a bunkmate to rig the game of archery for her. Maybe that’s where it all started? We all know Andrew gets pretty competitive and may have some great archery skills, so maybe Andrew has a twin sister who is very similar! Who knows!?

That’s it for this week, liars. You know what to do! Like, share, & comment. Let me know what you thought of tonight’s episode and share some of your theories!
