On this week’s episode of You, Joe and Beck have shacked up. Although we all know Joe is a little much when it comes to “protecting” Beck, he seems to have inspired her to start writing. One morning as Beck writes, she hears Paco’s parents arguing and Joe makes a comment about not meddling with people’s lives. :Insert eyeroll here:
Then comes girl’s night with Joe. Joe spends the night analyzing every flaw Beck’s friends have and something tells me he’ll be using it to his advantage. Peach is still trying to get Joe to confess to his crime of stealing, but Joe is just as sassy back.
Out of all of Beck’s friends, Annika seems to take a liking to Joe and vice versa, but it could also be their disdain for Peach Salinger that brings them together. Joe suggests that Annika post a throwback picture of her and Peach. She does it, but let’s just say it’s not a very flattering picture.
Later on, Joe’s dream date with Beck is interrupted when an anonymous user posts a very incriminating video of Annika. This just screams Peach. Joe is determined to stay one step ahead of Peach so he starts to follow her around and even takes up running. After following her around, his main task involves Peach’s laptop.
Joe comes home to Paco reading on the stairs. What’s new? Well this time, he’s reading a book on juvenile prosecuting. Seems that our little Paco is fed up with his stand-in father. Joe tries to convince Paco that he shouldn’t go the violent route and suggests a new book, “The Count of Monte Cristo”. “It’s about revenge and living with the enemy,” he says confidently.
The next night, Peach throws a party so she can introduce Beck to well-known agent, Roger Stevens. This earns her some points, but to be honest it may ruin her other opportunity from her adviser. While Beck mingles, Peach and Joe have a little snark fest. One thing they both agree on, Beck has no idea what’s best for her.
Joe finds an opportunity to steal Peach’s laptop and belongings. Instead of trying to guess the password, he looks through her other things and finds an old picture of Beck. Pervy Joe proceeds to masturbate to said picture in his bookstore basement. As he returns upstairs, he overhears Roger and Peach discussing Beck’s lack of writing expertise. He returns everything but the laptop and the picture.
He’s not sure how to crack the password, so he enlists Annika to get some information. All he gets is Annika venting about the label the whole world, especially Peach gave her. Beck saves him with a call warning him that Peach is searching his apartment for her laptop. After arguing back and forth with Beck in the middle, Joe suggests “Find my computer” and of course, the laptop is at Peach’s.
Peach storms out and Joe snaps at Beck for not coming to his defense. Joe then tells Beck what he overheard and boy was that the wrong move. Of course, this pushes Joe to find out what’s on the laptop. He cracks the password, “beckalicious”, and finds a folder with Beck’s initials. Joe realizes he’s not the only one watching Beck’s every move, when he sees photos and videos of his girlfriend. “Beck, you’ve got a stalker,” he says. The nerve of this guy. I mean, both of you are in love with Beck, so spare me the stalker talk.
Things fall into place for Joe’s revenge against Peach. Turns out Roger Stevens is a douchebag who doesn’t know how to keep it in his pants. After being shot down by Beck, he then confirms what Joe said about Peach. “Joe was right, you live to cut down your friends,” Beck says putting Peach in her place. For the first time, Beck walks away from Peach and it’s quite sad.
When Beck goes to apologize to Joe, their time is yet again interrupted by Peach. Beck (and Joe) comes running when Peach reveals she popped some pills before apologizing. But damn, Peach should be an actress with the show she pulls. Joe catches on, but Beck is still naive. Beck stays over at Peach’s and just like that Joe admits defeat.
Or not. Joe remembers why he took up running and finally catches up to Peach. He knocks her out with a rock and runs away with an inner monologue about murdering her. She never saw him coming.
When Joe comes home satisfied with what he did to Peach, he sees Paco hovering over his mother’s boyfriend. He overdosed (Paco’s doing), but Joe saves him. Too bad he’s ungrateful and starts beating Joe to a pulp. It’s karma. But the real karma is when Beck calls about Peach’s attack. “She’s alive?” he says in disbelief. She’s alive, bitches.
TLDR Version:
Joe and Beck are trying to live their best lives together, but there’s one person in the way. Peach Salinger. Through Joe’s stalking tactics, he finds that he isn’t the only one obsessed with Beck. Peach and Joe battle it out for Beck’s attention and while Peach is one step ahead, Joe takes the win by almost murdering the heiress.
