Spring Cleaning: 5 things that should be on your to-do list

Spring officially hit us last month and summer is a little over 2 months away, so that means it’s time to do some spring cleaning to prepare for the upcoming months! Most of the time, I really have no idea where to start but I find the following is a great guideline:

Sort out your clothes. With winter behind us and summer coming up on the horizon, it’s time to go through your piles of clothes sitting in your closet or on the floor. You don’t need your sweaters, large coats, thermals, scarves, etc.. Invest in a storage bin and set these clothes aside. If you’re like me and have empty luggage sitting in your closet, use that! It’ll take up the same space, but now you’ll have your winter clothes set aside for later on this year. While you’re putting away your winter clothes, look for clothes you don’t wear any longer. As your style evolves, the number of clothing items you have will most likely grow. I may not follow my own advice because I’m a hoarder, but you have to remember: you’re not going to wear that crop top anymore so donate it, sell it, or send it to your cousin(s) overseas and hope someone fits it.

Shred your old paperwork and junk mail. Remember when I said I was a hoarder? Well i’m much worse with paper and junk mail. But I’m definitely not alone. I was returning a somewhat pricey storage bin and the cashier lady went on a little rant about using storage bins for her old papers. She even found something from 10 years ago. Unless the paperwork can be used as evidence for something later on down the road, get rid of it. If you’re too lazy to shred your papers yourself, look for local shredding events or companies that will do it for a little fee. And don’t forget to sign up for paperless billing.

Manage your monthly bills. Obviously, this is something you should always pay attention to, but if it’s not something you are currently doing, now is a good time to start. After all, you gotta save up for that summer vacation you’ve been pining after. Take a look at your regular monthly expenses and weed out what you don’t need or use. For example, I wasn’t using my Netflix subscription, but I kept paying for it. It’s not hard to resubscribe so when I’m ready to binge watch some TV, I just sign up through the app for a month or so. Also, look at the data usage with your wireless company. 80% of the time I am on wi-fi at home or at work, so I went from an unlimited data plan to a 2 GB data plan. Verizon also has a safety mode so when I go over 2GB, I just get slower data speeds or I can choose to add more. Stop spending on things you aren’t using.

Clean out your phone. If you don’t clean your phone and open up your storage, that can have a great effect on your mobile device’s performance and speed. Plus, i’m sure you don’t want that dreaded “Not enough storage” message when you’re trying to take a selfie with your favorite actor at your local grocery store. Transfer your photos onto a USB/external drive or upload them to the cloud (but make sure you keep it clean if you know what I mean). Make room for new pictures from your upcoming trip. Delete apps that you aren’t using anymore. That includes games – you stopped trying to beat every level of Candy Crush a long time ago. And finally clear your mobile browser history for obvious reasons.

Clean/organize your space. This should be your top priority. There are days when you just grab something and instead of putting it back where you got it, you throw it somewhere out of the ordinary. Stop doing that! Whether it’s at work or at home, take a few minutes and envision how you want things to be organized and then take baby steps. You don’t have to finish everything in one day. I like to start with one section and once that’s done, move on. Make lists and reminders if you need to. Just like organizing your clothes, figure out what you need and don’t need. Keep a pile for trash and recycle if needed.  Oh, and don’t forget to clean out your refrigerator. That sour cream expired last year.

What are your spring cleaning must-dos?

Feel free to share your tips with me as well!

xoxo,

Adele

Looks I Love: 2018 Academy Awards #ManCrushMonday Edition

Last night the ladies rocked the #Oscars red carpet, but a lot of the men cleaned up very nicely as well. Some showed up in classic black tuxedos, while others decided to go against tradition and added some color and style. So before my Monday ends, here’s a special dedication to those guys.

90th Academy Awards

Timothee Chalamet followed last night’s trend of white on the red carpet dressed in an ivory tux by Berluti. He finished off the look with some black dress shoes and couldn’t look more perfect. | Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America) via Zimbio|

Armie Hammer gave a new meaning to red velvet in this suit by Giorgio Armani. His look was definitely a contrast compared to his Call Me By Your Name co-star Timothee, but it looked great when the two were pictured together. | Photo Source: Neilson Barnard/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Chadwick Boseman looked like a King last night in an all black ensemble by Givenchy Haute Couture. After the success of Black Panther, I wouldn’t expect anything else. I loved the long coat with the grey detail. | Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Gael Garcia Bernal, best known for his role in Mozart in the Jungle, represented Disney Pixar’s latest hit, Coco. He did a beautiful job performing the lullaby version of “Remember Me” last night and looked good in a navy Dior suit. | Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Tom Holland left his Spidey suit behind for a custom Hermès suit.  It was fitted perfectly and was suiting for his age. My favorite part of the look was the double breasted jacket. | Photo Source: Neilson Barnard/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Ansel Elgort walked the red carpet with girlfriend Violetta Komyshan in matching Tom Ford ensembles. The Baby Driver star went with a little more color on the top in a green velvet jacket with satin lapels. | Photo Source: Dia Dipasupil/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Daniel Kaluuya kept it classic in Brunello Cucinelli with black slacks, but added light brown into the mix, in what appears to be a suede jacket. The fit looked perfect on the breakout star of Get Out. | Photo Source: Neilson Barnard/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Let’s not forget the men who couldn’t make it to the ceremony:

Mercedes-Benz USA Official Awards Viewing Party

Navy was a popular color among the men’s suits. BFFs Chord Overstreet and Glen Powell practically matched, and Kendrick Sampson spiced it up a bit more with a velvet jacket.

26th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards Viewing Party

It was a Glee reunion last night! But it’s too bad we didn’t see any pictures of Darren Criss and Chris Colfer. Sebastian Stan took it up a notch with a navy jacket with a lot of detail.

2018 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Radhika Jones

A lot of Hollywood’s couples stepped out together last night. Both Liam Hemsworth and G-Eazy looked extremely in love with their counterparts, Miley Cyrus and Halsey. Personally, I loved G-Eazy’s whole ensemble with the velvet jacket and the loafers. Spiderman star Tom Holland changed his outfit from the main event and stepped into a maroon ensemble by Dolce&Gabbana.

Which guys are your #ManCrushMonday?

Looks I Love: 90th Academy Awards

Tonight marked the 90th year of the Academy Awards also known as the 2018 Oscars. The ceremony took place at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles’ iconic Hollywood and Highland Center, across the street and a few doors down from the 1st ceremony’s location back in 1929, The Roosevelt Theater.

90 years of film was celebrated tonight and I loved all of the montages of movies through the years. However, if I were to be honest, out of this year’s nominated movies, I only watched one (Coco). And if I were to continue to be honest, I watch mainly for the red carpet fashion. But you already knew that! So without further ado…

Taraji P. Henson was one of the first actresses I saw on the red carpet tonight and I instantly loved her look. The Empire star was styled in a black custom Vera Wang gown. The tulle gown featured an extremely high front slit, but Taraji worked the red carpet like it was nothing. I also loved the sheer sleeve attachments. I feel like she always pushes the limits on the red carpet and she does a great job each time. | Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Gina Rodriguez sparkled in a nude Zuhair Murad gown. As soon as I saw this dress, it seemed so familiar to me and I still can’t shake that feeling. But nonetheless, this dress was gorgeous. I loved the low cut neckline, the silver embellishment, and the train. As she walked the red carpet with her beau, she looked like a beautiful princess in love! | Photo Source:  Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Zendaya will always appear on my “Looks I Love” series. She’s the fashion inspiration of her generation. Tonight, the Greatest Showman star kept it neutral in a brown Giambattista Valli Haute Couture dress. The chiffon dress showcased an off the shoulder look and she looked like a chic goddess. Zendaya dresses her age and doesn’t try to conform to any specific look or expectation, and that’s what I absolutely love about her. | Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Margot Robbie was part of one of the biggest fashion trends of the night. Many actresses showed up in neutral colors, specifically white. The Best Actress nominee was stunning in a white Chanel dress. The off the shoulder dress featured some detail draped across the neckline before going off to form sleeves. The corset bodice clung perfectly to her, making her a vision in white. Out of all the white dresses, this was definitely my favorite. | Photo Source: Source: Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Emma Stone was absolutely stunning tonight. And she wasn’t even wearing a lavish gown. She went a complete 180 from last year’s golden and glamorous Givenchy gown. She walked the red carpet and presented in a Louis Vuitton pantsuit. She wore a maroon colored, satin blazer belted with pink. She kept it simple on the bottom with some black slacks and black heels. I liked how she went against the norm tonight. Emma’s one of those actresses that keeps it real. I wish I could be BFFs with Emma [and Jennifer Lawrence]. | Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

While the above looks were my favorites, those weren’t the only looks I loved! Here are a few other looks that caught my eye tonight:

Looks I Love: 24th Annual Screen Actor’s Guild Awards

The 2018 red carpet season continued tonight with the 24th Annual Screen Actor’s Guild Awards. Kristen Bell served as the very first host of the award show. Morgan Freeman took home the Lifetime Achievement Award. And of course the audience was full of beautiful people. Here were some of my favorite looks of the night:

Natalia Dyer – The Stranger Things actress walked the red carpet alongside co-stars Dacre Montgomery and Joe Keery in a two tone Christian Dior Haute Couture dress. The dress started with a sheer black top and continued on with a white printed skirt. The recently turned 21-year-old finished off the look with a bun and looked as elegant as ever. | Photo Source: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Halle Berry – The former Catwoman graced the red carpet in a custom Pamella Roland gown. The nude gown had sequined detail from head to toe, while the black tulle train amplified the look. She confidently showed off her assets and honestly does not look her age at all! | Photo Source: Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Mandy Moore – The This Is Us star shimmered in a  Ralph Lauren dress. Her and her fellow female cast mates all decided to walk the carpet in royal blue proving that this cast/family is truly deserving of the the Best Ensemble award. The neckline is somewhat conservative, but she kept it low cut in the back. I loved the soft curls she paired along with the look. | Photo Source: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Yara Shahidi – Yara Shahidi proves to be a force to reckon with in her generation. The Grown-ish star chose to wear a black Ralph Lauren jumpsuit. She definitely stood out in the crowd. But this wasn’t just an ordinary strapless jumpsuit. What made it elegant and perfect for the SAG awards was the flowy train. | Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Millie Bobby Brown – The young fashion icon of her generation decided to continue on with Calvin Klein by Appointment  just like she did at the 2018 Golden Globes. She kept it young with a blush colored high-low dress, but my favorite part of the look was the fact that she chose to wear white Converse. Walking the red carpet in heels isn’t always comfortable, so she said screw it. And it’s absolutely cute on her. | Photo Source: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Kristen Bell – The host of the night decided to walk the carpet in a pink J. Mendel gown. The strapless gown had floral detail from the top to bottom. The gown was tight fitting at the top but the skirt flared out and to me she looked like a Disney princess. The low bun and subtle makeup completed the look. Throughout the show, she let her hair down and opted for black gowns and she looked great! I’ve loved Kristen Bell ever since she was that investigative high school student who pretty much broke the rules all the time (Veronica Mars)So I think she was the perfect person to host the SAGs for the first time. | Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio |

Looks I Love: 2018 Golden Globes

Red carpet season has begun. And this year is more significant than the past years. Why? Because everyone showed up in black to show solidarity with the #MeToo movement and TIME’S UP.  The #MeToo movement gained more traction last year after Harvey Weinstein and many other men in Hollywood were exposed to be sexual predators. The TIME’s UP movement is set to continue the conversation about sexual harassment, abuse, and inequality towards women not only in Hollywood, but all around the world. And it was definitely a beautiful red carpet last night.

And with that being said, here are some of my favorite looks of the night.

The Next Generation

Katherine Langford – The 13 Reasons Why star and Best Actress in a Drama nominee attended her first Golden Globes in a Prada gown. The long sleeve, low cut gown also had some beaded detail around the waistline which paired very nicely with the Chopardjewelry. Although she is a rookie to the red carpet, she looked very poised. |Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio.|

Millie Bobby Brown – Millie has a few red carpets under her belt especially after the success of Stranger Things. The 13 year-old proved again to be a future fashion icon when she stepped on the Golden Globes red carpet wearing a Calvin Klein by Appointment dress fit for her age. It was modern and chic and not many people could pull it off. |Photo Source: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images North America via Zimbio.|

Dove Cameron – Out of the three, Dove’s overall look was my favorite. She was the epitome of a classic Hollywood actress in this strapless Monique Lhuillier gown. I could have done without the bow, but the hair, makeup, and jewelry were all on point and contributed to the whole look. |Photo Source: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images North America via Zimbio.|

The Presenters

Viola Davis – Viola Davis has been gracing the Golden Globes red carpet for years and every year she radiates so much confidence that’s very inspiring. This year was not an exception as she walked the red carpet and presented in a Brandon Maxwell gown. She was all smiles and I just remembered that I need to catch up on How to Get Away With Murder. |Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio.|

Alicia Vikander – The former Golden Globe nominee continues to make waves in Hollywood as she is set to star in the 2018 adaptation of Tomb Raider. This year she walked the red carpet in Louis Vuitton. The dress had a lot of beaded detail and looked fairly modest with a high neckline and long sleeves, but when Alicia turned around, the open back was displayed. She brought sexy back! |Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio.|

The Nominees

Jessica Biel – To be honest, I had no idea Jessica Biel was back on television so it was a nice surprise to see her walk the red carpet. The Sinner star showed up in a Dior Haute Couture gown alongside husband, Justin Timberlake. The strapless gown was a combination of tulle and velvet and Mr. Timberlake could not take his eyes off of his wife. |Photo Source: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images North America via Zimbio.|

Issa Rae – The Insecure star and Best Actress nominee walked the red carpet in a low cut, deep V-neck Prabal Gurung gown. Her dress shimmered as she rocked the red carpet and showed off some leg. She oozed confidence and left any insecurities at home, proving she’s come a long way from that Awkward Black Girl. |Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio.|

Allison Janney Last night, she took home the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in I, Tonya and she did it in one of my favorite dresses of the night. While most of the dresses on the carpet were solid black, Janney sported a black and white Mario Dice dress. It was intricately cut and almost looked as if it was painted white in certain areas, creating a butterfly effect. |Photo Source: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images North America via Zimbio.|

Margot Robbie The star of I, Tonya was part of the Gucci gang when she stepped onto the red carpet last night. While her co-star Allison Janney had color detail on the upper part of her dress, Margot opted for a dress with some silver, floral detail on the lower half. |Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio.|

The Actresses I Look Up To

Emilia Clarke The Game of Thrones star was all smiles when she walked the Golden Globes red carpet in a Miu Miu dress. The solid black dress had an off-the-shoulder/lowcut neckline with a little black bow in the front and a high slit in the back. She also showed off he platinum blonde hair and like many other GoT fans, I’m in disbelief that we have to wait another year for the final season – especially after that season 7 finale. |Photo Source: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images North America via Zimbio.|

Jamie Chung – If you didn’t know, Jamie Chung is one of my fashion inspirations. She’s one of the reasons I think about my OOTDs! For her first look of the night, Jamie stepped out in a strapless Ermanno Scervino creation. She rocked leather on the top and tulle on the bottom displaying a playful yet edgy look. One way her look stood out among a sea of black was the fact that she had mismatched Sophia Webster heels, one white and one black. I wouldn’t be surprised if she just started a hot fashion trend! |Photo Source: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images North America via Zimbio.|

Looks I Love: NYFW (Red Carpet Edition)

It’s #FashionFriday and New York Fashion Week has officially come to an end for Fall 2017. This year fashion week kicked off on Thursday, September 7th and ended Wednesday night on September 13th. Cinq À Sept was one of the first shows and the week was full of other celebrations that tailored to Fashion Week, like Harper’s Bazaar “Icons” celebration.

While so many people flocked to New York to check out what will soon be trending in the fashion world during Spring/Summer 2018, I kept tabs on what my favorite celebrities were up to and what they were wearing.

Here’s a recap of a few of my faves! (Photos from Zimbio, unless stated otherwise)

Jamie Chung

I always look forward to Fashion Week because I know that Jamie Chung will be there! She’s made her way up the fashion totem pole and is almost always seen every year in the front row at the hottest shows.

Stylist: Jeff K. Kim. Hair: Yasmein Abdulla. Makeup: Brian Dean

She kicked off her NYFW journey at the Kate Spade Presentation, styled by her go to stylist Jeff K. Kim. Jamie wore a Kate Spade New York boho floral jacquard dress over black slacks. The dress comes with a detachable black bow at the collar, which she opted out of. But the look isn’t without a bow, as she decided to go for a black bow as a belt at the waist. The outfit was paired with appears to be a tusk colored Kate Spade “Cameron Street Jensen” tote bag.

Stylist: Jeff K. Kim. Makeup: Brian Dean

Later that night, Jamie attended the Harper’s Bazaar “Icons” event. Styled by Jeff K. Kim with makeup done by Brian Dean, Jamie walked the red carpet with a Roberto Cavalli dress. After doing some research, this tiered, patterned dress looks like it may have been part of the Spring 2017 collection

jamiechungselfportraitspringsummer2018z6wpjgp35hql

On September 9th, Jamie showed some love to Han Chong at the Self Portrait show while rocking their Camo Lace Frill Jumpsuit. I’m loving the navy laced top as it gives the illusion that it’s a two piece outfit.

jamiechungjonathansimkhaifrontrowseptemberac8tspub4twl

The former Gotham star was last seen front row at the Jonathan Simkhai show alongside Sabrina Carpenter, Karen Gillan, and Shay Mitchell. She wore a black Jonathan Simkhai Dimensional Lurex Trumpet Skirt, which is part of Jonathan Simkhai’s Fall/Winter 2017 line, and paired it with a grey sweater.

Favorite Look: Jonathan Simkhai
Where can we see Jamie Chung next: She can be seen on Fox’s new show The Gifted which premieres on Oct. 2, 2017.

Ashley Benson

Ashley Benson has always been and will always be one of my favorite actresses. Over the past few years, we haven’t really seen Ashley attending Fall NYFW, but now that she’s a New York resident, it was definitely a bonus to see her this year. This year she turned to stylist Tara Swennen and had Chad Wood alongside for a fresh new hairstyle!

Stylist: Tara Swennen. Hair: Chad Wood. Makeup: Todd Delano

To start off her Fashion Week experience, she attended Refinery29’s ’29Rooms: Turn It Into Art’ event with a pair of black trousers by Dorothee Schumacher and a white (or baby blue) button down top from Brunello Cucinelli. A pair of black suspenders held the outfit together. While roaming around, she was also spotted with her signature leather jacket, which always makes her look so badass.

Stylist: Tara Swennen. Hair: Chad Wood. Makeup: Todd Delano

The next day, Ashley sat front row at the Jeremy Scott show with a different look compared to the night before. She opted for a Jeremy Scott hoodie from his Fall 2017 Ready-To-Wear collection, donning the image of Jesus. Who needs pants when you have these amazing Pollice Lee “Lily” boots?!

The other half of ButtahBenzo also happened to attend W Magazine’s “It Girl” luncheon. I wasn’t able to find a full size photo of her outfit, but it looks like she may have been rocking the Fleur Du Mal Double Breasted Short Blazer Dress. Also, Chad Wood did a great job with her hair.

Favorite Look: Refinery29’s ’29Rooms: Turn It Into Art’ event
Where can we see Ashley Benson next: Ashley’s taking a little break, as she should, considering Pretty Little Liars lasted a while.

Shay Mitchell

A part of me is a bit bummed we didn’t get any ButtahBenzo moments. Shay was slaying mostly every day during NYFW. She had so many looks to keep track of, but she looked like she had a lot of fun.

She was at one of the first shows of the week, the Cinq A Sept presentation. She was styled in black from head to toe by Marie-Lou Bartoli. She wore a black, off the shoulder Cinq A Sept dress with some Saint Laurent heels and a black Hermes bag.

The same night, she attended Refinery29’s ’29Rooms: Turn It Into Art’ event. She was styled by Mimi Cutrell in a Fausto Puglisi oversized shirt, no pants needed! The slicked back, high ponytail was styled by Laura Polko and makeup was done by Shay’s go to, Patrick Ta (assisted by Jen Tioseco).

Stylist: Unknown. Hair: Laura Polko. Makeup: Patrick Ta.

The next day, the Pretty Little Liars star was spotted front row at the Cushnie Et Ochs show. I wasn’t able to find the exact stylist Shay worked with, but they opted for a Cushnie Et Ochs white jumpsuit very similar to the “Valerie” jumpsuit seen in the Fall 2017 collection.

shaymitchellharperbazaarcelebratesiconsqxajwifaogpl

Stylist: Marie-Lou Bartoli. Hair: Unknown. Makeup: Ariel Tejada.

She then made her way to Harper’s Bazaar “Icons” event with an opposite colored look styled by Marie-Lou Bartoli. She wore a vintage (Pre-Fall 2013) Versace gown with a hint of gold. She had her make up done for the night by Ariel Tejada and had some sultry, smokey eyes.

shaymitchelljonathansimkhaifrontrowseptemberdedmnwkqm55l

Stylist: Marie-Lou Bartoli. Hair: Andrew Fitzsimons. Makeup: Patrick Ta assisted by Jen Tioseco

Just like Jamie Chung, Shay was seen front row at the  Jonathan Simkhai show. Styled by Marie-Lou Bartoli yet again, I had some Ariana Grande vibes from this look. She was seen rocking a Jonathan Simkhai white fur sweater from the Fall 2017 collection and a lace bodysuit from Pre-Fall 2017 collection under a pair of jeans. The combat boots and Shay’s bun done by Andrew Fitzsimons, completed the whole look.

shaymitchellannasuifrontrowseptembertu3qd8g5y4hl

Stylist: Marie-Lou Bartoli. Hair: Andrew Fitzsimons. Makeup: Patrick Ta

Two days later, Shay was seen front row at the Anna Sui presentation. She looked like she stepped out of the 1970’s! She wore a gold two piece outfit (foiled diamonds wrap top & foiled diamond pants) from the Fall 2017 collection by Anna Sui. Completing the 70s look, Andrew Fitzsimons gave Shay some “big hair” with some curly locks.

shaymitchellnaeemkhanfrontrowseptembertdtgee3hw-pl

Stylist: Marie-Lou Bartoli. Hair: Andrew Fitzsimons. Makeup: Patrick Ta

Shay ended her NYFW stint at the Naeem Khan presentation on September 12. It was definitely a contrast from her look at the Anna Sui show. She wore a Caviar Beaded Dress With Long Sleeves from the Fall 2017 collection of Naeem Khan. Instead of pairing it with some heels, she opted with some Louis Vuitton boots. The slick long hair was also perfect!

Favorite Look: Naeem Khan
Where can we see Shay Mitchell next: Shay is in New York filming “You” an upcoming Lifetime show alongside lonely boy, Penn Badgley.
Social Media: Twitter | Instagram | YouTube

Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa took a little time off of being a judge on So You Think You Can Dance? and attended a few events at NYFW. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: Vanessa always rocks whatever she wears. She exudes confidence and that’s what I love about her.

vanessahudgensharperbazaarcelebratesiconsdfbpxcadianl

Stylist: Natalie Saidi (correct me if i’m wrong!). Hair: Andrew Fitzsimons. Makeup: ?

Like Shay Mitchell and Jamie Chung, Vanessa was seen at the Harper’s Bazaar “Icons” event. She was joined by long time beau, Austin Butler, and they looked amazing together. She wore a black gown by Jeremy Scott with some butterfly prints similar to what can be seen in his Fall 2017 Collection.

vanessahudgensjeremyscottlongchampjeremyt6szmf5u85bl

Stylist: Natalie Saidi (correct me if i’m wrong!) Hair: Chad Wood. Makeup: ?

A few days later she was sitting front row at the Jeremy Scott presentation alongside Spring Breakers co-star Ashley Benson and bf Austin Butler. She wore a black cut out dress and an orange colored bomber jacket, which I believe is by Jeremy Scott, but I’m unable to find it! If anyone knows where this jacket is from, please let me know. Chad Wood also hooked her up with some gorgeous hair extensions.

Favorite Look: Jeremy Scott
Where can we see Vanessa Hudgens next: SYTYCD & climbing mountains on NBC on Running Wild with Bear Grylls! set to air on Sept. 16.

And there you have it! My favorite people and their OOTDs during New York Fashion Week. What were your favorite looks?

Now Playing: New Music Friday 9.8.17

Hello!

Here’s yet another edition of me pretending I know how to review music. To be honest, I really just want to showcase my feels when I hear songs for the first time, especially from artists that I love.

Here are a few songs that stood out to me on this week’s New Music Friday playlist :

“You Don’t Do It For Me Anymore” by Demi Lovato

https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/3JBUv4SVXFAbZVlnchORpU

At 10 p.m. PST last night, I saw that this song was released. I was about 1 hour late, but you better believe I went straight to Spotify and streamed it. I will always love Demi Lovato’s voice. It’s so strong and soulful and there’s just so many feels when she belts out those high notes. Her ballads are always my favorite.

This is the 3rd track from her upcoming album and from what I’m hearing I could tell that I’m going to enjoy it. I feel like she’s gotten some inspiration over the years and just like Sam Smith’s new song, I feel some heartbreak.

Her 6th studio album, “Tell Me You Love Me”, will be released on 9/29/17.

“Too Good At Goodbyes” by Sam Smith

https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/7oAraczbemGSNWqnbkU87R

It’s been two years, so people have definitely been waiting to hear from Grammy Award winner, Sam Smith. With records like “Stay With Me”, “Lay Me Down”, and my personal favorite “Not In That Way”, expectations are high. And being deemed the male version of Adele, emotions are high as well.

In “Too Good At Goodbyes”, Sam gives such a soulful performance. He is basically singing about not giving a f**k when the relationship in question ends. But even though he’s trying to mask it, you can hear the heartbreak.

“Let Me Go” by Hailee Steinfeld with Alesso feat. Florida Georgia Line & watt

https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/5Gu0PDLN4YJeW75PpBSg9p

I love Hailee. For some reason, I feel like she’s been in the music industry for a while and then I remember she’s only 20 years old. While her sound is very pop, I feel like she stands out as an artist. When I listen to her sing, I don’t see Hailee Steinfeld, the actress trying to merge into the music business. I see her as the solo music artist, if that makes sense. I think she does a really good job at keeping the two careers separate. I’m hoping a studio album is coming out soon.

Anyways, this song has a very familiar sound to it. It’s definitely clear that Alesso is on the track. But I think the cool part of this song is how Florida Georgia Line is featured. When country meets pop, it’s always a good time.

“Love So Soft” by Kelly Clarkson

https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/0o7glLPfZgns8ZF14Wlpf7

It’s so hard to believe that it’s been 15 years since Kelly Clarkson was deemed the 1st American Idol. Makes me feel old AF. But Kelly Clarkson, along with Carrie Underwood, is undeniably one of the most successful American Idols.

With this song, I feel like Kelly stayed true to herself, but added a little more flavor to go along with what we’re currently hearing on the radio now. It’s a song to sing along to and it gets you up and moving.

“Leave Right Now” by Thomas Rhett

https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/0wyja8xD9cNhDtfuY0dVMP

I don’t listen to country often. I don’t hate it, but it’s just not something you’ll see on my playlists. I’ve never listened to Thomas Rhett, but like most country songs, this song sounded super sweet. I like that it starts off sweet with an acoustic guitar and then later on there’s some electronic music infused as if a DJ came and remixed the song.

From what I can tell, Thomas Rhett is kind of straddling the line between country and pop and it sounds great. If I didn’t know that Thomas was a country singer, I probably wouldn’t have thought this was country.

“Dark Side of the Gym” by The National

https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/1OdpIb0nzhDcqwkiYp0O1u

I have no idea who The National is, but apparently they’re an indie rock band that’s been around since 1999 (maybe even longer). I usually like alternative rock, but just like country, it’s not on my typical playlists (at least currently).

This song is pretty chill and mellow, but there’s a music break towards the end that makes me think of those cheesy teen movies from the 80s. I even get a 50s vibe. All I picture is a young couple slow dancing in a gym at their school dance.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/1YuIEfhp8umr6QSal4FTK4

https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/4nGW06TRJOIrVRfjnuK4se

A few of these songs will be on repeat for the next few days and I’m extremely excited to hear what’s coming up for the artists.

Do you have any favorite new music that’s out?

My Favorite Asian Snacks

I love snacking and sometimes I have weird cravings when I wake up in the middle of the night. One time I woke up around 1 a.m. & started to crave salt and vinegar Lays chips.

But lately I’ve been craving lots of snacks from the Asian market. When I’m shopping for produce and meat at the asian supermarket, I make sure I grab some of the following snacks each visit. And I’m visiting at least twice a week, so it’s always snack time! I know, I know, I should eat healthier…

Shrimp Snacks (Original flavor)

These are my absolute favorite snack that I pretty much buy every time I’m at an Asian supermarket. They are basically these light and crispy chips supposedly made from real shrimp. I’m not sure if I taste the shrimp, but it is salty goodness that I need in my life. The bag says to grab your favorite dip, but I love them plain and original. The chips just melt in your mouth and lately I’ve been super addicted.

Sweet Corn

These are addicting as well! If you’ve ever eaten cheese balls, these are basically corn balls. They are yellow colored balls with the same sort of texture as cheese balls and they taste like sweet corn. I’m captain obvious today. They’re a perfect combo of sweet and salty, but mostly sweet. It’s kind of like popcorn in a different form.

Prepared Shredded Squid

This is obviously not for everybody since it’s seafood. But if you’re down to try it, it’s dried squid with seasoning and a hint sweetness. I usually go for the original flavor, but it comes in spicy if you like hot stuff.

Boy Bawang

Bawang is tagalog for garlic. Boy Bawang is like the Filipino version of Corn Nuts. And it’s highly addicting. The most common flavor is garlic, but there are so many other flavors like hot and spicy, barbecue, and adobo flavored. Again, I’m basic and opt for the garlic flavor.

Hi-Chew

I believe this year was the first time I had a Hi-Chew. They are basically a chewy candy, kind of like taffy. There are many different fruity flavors, but of the ones I’ve tried, my favorite flavors are mango and melon.

Pocky or Pepero

I always love Pocky or Pepero! They are dipped biscuit sticks. My favorite Pocky flavors are Strawberry and Green Tea. The strawberry ones can get a little too sweet sometimes, but it doesn’t hurt to have some once in a while. As for Pepero, I absolutely love the White Cookie Chocolate Covered Cookie Stick. I just discovered this flavor a few months ago, & it was heaven.

Dragon fruit

Here’s to a healthy snack. When I first saw a dragon fruit, I was mesmerized by its colorful, bright skin and it’s odd shape. It’s a cactus fruit with a bunch of health benefits. I read somewhere that it helps control blood sugar levels, so as a person having diabetes, it’s good to have. I usually buy a pre-cut cup of dragon fruit as opposed to the whole fruit. It’s much easier in my opinion.

What things are you snacking on at the moment?

What’s in my Netflix queue? (Part One)

I used to watch a lot of television. Keyword(s): used to. I’d get excited for new shows and new seasons every Fall that I would create a little spreadsheet/calendar of premiere dates.  I would typically stay on top of my shows and never really have to catch up.

I still watch a lot of television. But i’m so behind on my former favorite shows. Plus, I hate watching TV in the presence of other people. I’m anti-social like that. And I have no wifi.

The only show that I love and stayed caught up on was Pretty Little Liars and currently Game of Thrones and The Bold Type.

I’d like to catch up on shows before the new seasons start.  However, I feel like I have a long way to go, especially since my Netflix queue is all over the place. Let’s take a look…

THE TOP 5. These series are a few of my all time favorite shows. Sadly all of them are done, but I’m ready to binge watch.

Glee ended two years ago. I still listen to the soundtracks and see each performance in my head. It gave me life then and it still gives me life now. I miss seeing those kids every week. I need to hear them singing new songs and covers.

Pretty Little Liars just ended back in June. I tried binge watching all the eps before the finale, but that just didn’t work out. 160 episodes to watch in two weeks was pretty impossible. But it was so nostalgic watching the pilot compared to the last few episodes. The finale was an ode to the fans.

Gossip Girl came back on my radar when two of my favorite Filipino actresses revealed they was rewatching episodes. The pilot episode gave me so many feels, but I’m still mad at how it ended.

One Tree Hill had Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush, two people I love. Unfortunately, I still need to catch up on OTH. I don’t remember ever finishing the last 2 seasons. But I did watch the finale.

The Secret Circle will always be the one that got away. When I heard of this cancellation, I was devastated. The first season left us with such a cliffhanger! I legit cried and I even participated in signing those petitions and tweeting #SaveTheCircle. Out of all the CW cancellations, this was the one that disappointed me the most. #WitchesRule

THE FAVES I NEED TO CATCH UP ON. These shows have new seasons coming soon and some even their last!

The Originals. I watched TVD to watch Phoebe Tonkin kick ass as a werewolf (She was on the Secret Circle). Then she got her own show with the Original vampire family, so I had to watch it. However, I think I stopped during season 2 or 3. It’s 5th and final season is premiering this Fall and I may wait and just binge watch after it’s done.

Once Upon A Time has many changes in the new season this fall, with several main characters leaving. There are so many twists and turns on our favorite fairytales. I’m curious to see how it goes without it’s main heroine and family, but I have to catch up on about 1 and a half seasons. But since it’s sort of a reboot maybe I don’t have to catch up…

How to Get Away with Murder. I’m on the season where they focus on “Who shot Analise?” That’s season 2 I think? HTGAWM makes me think too much. At first it was confusing with all the flashbacks, but I started to understand more and it sucked me in. In fact, it’s the only show in Shondaland I ever got into.

Orange is the New Black doesn’t have a new season coming out anytime soon, so I have a lot of time to catch up. This past season is pretty good so far. There’s so much chaos amongst the inmate takeover, I can’t wait to see who survives it.

THE SHOWS ABOUT THE SUPERHEROES. Smallville was my favorite show growing up, so to see the following shows make such an impact on their audiences is pretty amazing.

To be honest, I need to catch up a lot on these shows. I might as well start from the beginning.

Supergirl. As a fan of Superman, I was so excited for this show. I was so excited to see Supergirl’s story, not just Superman’s cousin. Honestly, when they brought Superman on the show (Tyler Hoechlin), I was kind of pissed and scared that he would outshine Kara. But anyways, Kara and her friends felt relatable. She wasn’t just this alien, she was a girl trying to figure out what she wanted in life. Also, as a Gleek, Melissa Benoist made me proud.

The Flash. I didn’t know much about Barry Gordon, other than what I saw on Smallville. I still don’t know much about him, but Grant Gustin is a dork and how can you not fall in love with him.

Arrow. Just like the Flash, the only Oliver Queen I knew was played by Justin Hartley, and I loved him. I didn’t know Stephen Amell, but I knew Katie Cassidy and I wanted to support one of my favorite CW actresses. But I fell in love with the drama and the action. What can I say? I love the brooding guys that come out of their shell. Am I talking about the right show?

Gotham. I never finished season one, but I liked what I saw in the first few episodes. We’re all used to seeing grown up, broody Batman, but in contrast, we see the future Batman as an innocent little boy who just lost his parents. However, we do see some brooding from Benjamin McKenzie. Oh how I missed that.

This isn’t my whole Netflix queue, but it’s the ones that are on the top of my list! Stay tuned for more of my list and maybe we can watch together.

Adele

Travel Bucket List: International Countries

It would be a great opportunity to be able to get on a plane and travel to certain destinations at my own discretion.

I’ve been to the Philippines and that’s about it for international destinations, unless I count my stopovers in South Korea. The airport is really nice.

As far as other places here in the U.S., I’ve been to Dayton, Las Vegas, and more recently, New York. It was a short weekend, but it was great to travel as an adult and tourist. Vegas is great, but it gets old real quick. I hope to visit New York again and check out more great spots along with other cities in the U.S. But I’d love to get more stamps in my passport and learn about other countries.

Here are the top 10 countries I’d like to visit if I had the money and vacation time to do so!

CANADA

Oh, Canada! Since middle school & high school I wanted to visit the country up north, specifically Vancouver. The main reason had/has to do with my love for television. I remember always wanting to do a road trip just so I could see where exactly my favorite tv show, Smallville, was filming. For some reason I thought that if I was able to road trip it to Vancouver, I could easily meet Tom Welling, Kristin Kreuk, & Alison Mack. I’d still love to make it to Van city to see where some current shows film. I’d also love to visit Toronto to see my Degrassi people and where Drake started.

But other than my love for television, I’d like to go sight seeing at places like Niagara Falls and Old Quebec and even visit the top of CN Tower to get a view of Lake Ontario.

FRANCE

Bonjour, je m’appelle Adele! For those of you that don’t know, I took French for four years from middle school to high school. Too bad I only retained a few things. If someone spoke slowly to me in French, I’m confident that i’d probably be able to pick up a few words.

Je voudrais aller à Le Louvre et L’Arc De Triomphe. If I wrote that correctly, I just said, “I would like to go to the Louvre and the Arc De Triomphe.” These were a few destinations we learned about in French class. I’d also love to admire the architecture of all the castles and palaces like the Palace of  Versailles. And of course what would my trip be without visiting the Eiffel Tower? I’d love to see it during the day and how it’s lit up at night. The hopeless romantic in me pictures someone proposing to me right in front of it in the city of love, Paris.

ITALY

Let me start off by saying that I love Italian food. Pasta is life. By saying that, i’d want to navigate through Italy and eat all the Pizza I can.

I’d want to admire the art, see Da Vinci’s Last Supper and climb the steps of Duomo di Milano (Milan Cathedral) and then I’d go to the Trevi Fountain and make a wish. Visiting Verona, the home of Romeo and Juliet would be amazing too!

But most of all i’d want to visit St. Peters Basilica and just sit and pray for a little.

UNITED KINGDOM

I want to be cliché. First, I’d visit the Buckingham Palace. I’d want to stand next to a guard and try to get them to crack. But I don’t want to be obnoxious. We both know I wont pester them. I’d just stand there and smile awkardly. Then i’d pretend to make a call from a red phone booth and cross Abbey Road. Maybe, I’ll meet a cute british boy who’ll charm me with their accent and then we’ll go find a Nandos and have lunch.

JAPAN

Although I’m a bit claustrophobic, I’d love to cross the Shibuya Crossing. I mean, it cracks me up how I see people stand in the middle and almost stop pedestraim traffic to take a picture. I’d want to do that to, but I don’t know if I have the guts to do so.

Tokyo Disney is on my list and visiting my friends who are stationed there is also a must. Oh and food. I’d go around to find the best sushi and desserts.

SPAIN

I dont’t know much about the landmarks and history of Spain, but like other countries, I’d want to explore the architect and the beauty of the building and culture.

AUSTRALIA

Of course I’d love to visit the land down under! It would be so cool to celebrate the New Year here since it’s the first country to celebrate. I’d like to watch the fireworks go off at Sydney Harbor Bridge.

THAILAND

Just like Spain and Australia, I’m not too familiar with famous landmarks or even the culture. But it’s definitely another Asian country I’d like to visit.

I’d want to visit the many islands and I’d be very down to eat the streetfoods. And shopping, always shopping.

GREECE

I want to have my own little Sisterhood of Traveling Pants moments and meet someone to take me out of my comfort zone. I am forever a hopeless romantic.

But mostly, I’d like to visit all the places we’ve heard about in Greek Mythology and history. I’d want to visit the Parthenon and the Temple of Olympian Zeus.

Also, although I’m not a big fan of beaches, I’d want to see Myrtos Beach as well!

PHILIPPINES

As mentioned earlier, I’ve been to the Philippines already. The first time was when I was 16 and I mostly stayed in the province of Zambales. The second time I went was last December, 11 years after the first time. As an “adult”, I made lists of places I wanted to visit, but just like when I was 16, I was mostly in the province. We were in Subic and Manila a few times for shopping and whatnot and even took a whole bus full of 50+ people to Pangasinan and Baguio, but there were so many places I wanted visit.

When I go back to the Philippines, I’d like to go to Vigan and see the Spanish influences in the architecture. I’d love to explore  Manila and Quezon City along with Makati and Tagaytay. Palawan and Boracay is on my list for beaches. I’d even hike a little to see Mt. Pinatubo! There’s even a lot to check out in my family’s province, i’d want to explore more. I just wish it were a little cooler in temperature.

Remember #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines.

I hope that one day I’ll get to visit at least half of these countries. But writing this list made me realize I don’t know much about other countries. For a lot of countries I wouldn’t know where to even start, but I know I’ll figure out a plan if I do get the chances to step foot in each of these countries! I look forward to learn more about each country and the culture.

If you have any recommendations of places to visit in each country, let me know!

xoxo,

Adele
